| I don't really what's so special about that song, it's not that bad, it's just very average and forgettable, dosen't sound much different from most of today's popular music. |

Kind of sums it up for me as well. I just don't like it at all and wasted 3 minutes of my life watching that silly video.
However, I did find that Family Guy clip incredibly funny in light of this thread.

Modern country (which is just pop-rock with a southern drawl) does indeed suck ass.
Old school country had its moments. Jerry Reed was one of the best. |

I'd never heard of this girl until a few days ago when I saw something on Google or MSN about Rebecca Black's new single and I was thinking "Who is Rebecca Black? Must be some Disney/Nick tween star turned pop tart."
By chance I clicked this thread last night and learned more about her than I wanted to.  |
She actually quit school because of people making fun of her.

| I feel pretty bad for her, even if you don't like the song, she didn't deserve to go through that. Jake LLoyd was also forced out of school due ot kids making fun of him for Phantom Menace, seems kids are getting more cruel then ever nowadays. |

Kids have always been cruel... but when we did something that wasn't liked, the entire world wasn't aware of it (as they are now through the internet), so the impact was as miminal as possible. With everything online, exposure and criticism are magnified to ridiculous amounts, ending up in stuff like this. |

| She won't give a rat's ass in a couple years once she starts raking in the dough.
Ok, kid's are cruel, and yeah I suppose it's a drag she had to leave regular school, however too big of a deal is being made about it, especially when compared to other bullying events. She made a music video, of course there's going to be people that lampoon and criticize it. Just like any other music video and or song. These people that are comparing it to those kids that commited suicide because they were being harassed about their homosexuality is ridiculous though. THAT was a tradgedy, and pretty smurfed up. This on the other hand is relatively normal.
Not directed at anyone here by the way. |

Agreed, i heard about those suicides in my class, that was truly tragic and I would never compare those examples to Rebecca's case, but that dosen't mean I don't feel bad for her. |

I was at a metal show not long ago, and Rebecca Black was brought up when I showed a couple of metalheads there the Jason pic posted earlier in this thread. They said they think Rebecca Black seems like a nice person, and seems to have a good sense of humor from what they've seen of her in interviews and online videos. |
