Soulmotor was Brian Wheat's post-Tesla band after they broke up. They put out two albums—Soulmotor and Revolution Wheel—which were pretty good. Far different from Tesla, though.

It's been about ten years since the last album came out, but it looks like they're gearing up to release a third album. Here's a video from it (I love the black cop with the froburns at the end, haha):

This one's a bit different from how they were before. Sounds a bit like Fozzy. I dig it, though. But I don't imagine it'll please everyone. Way better than Haunted by Heroes, though!

Here's the lead-off track from their debut:

I saw them opening for Def Leppard back in 1999 or 2000. Wasn't really impressed, although they did their best to entertain, I can give them that.

They're not the greatest. It's just sold bar-room kind of rock and roll, you know. Not sure about this upcoming album, though. Seems more alt-rock to me.

I used to jam with Tommy alot when he and Brian first started doing this...It is way different than the other stuff the known players are "famous" for.

Interesting. The drummer is the ex-Papa Roach drummer.

I haven't heard these guys in some time. Will have to dig that CD out some time soon.

The new one doesn't sound great. Lots of modern-sounding stuff on it, some even experimental. I get the vibe that the new one is more of a project by the singer than a true "band" kind of album.

As much as I love Tesla, I could never really get into any of the guy's other outside projects with the exception of Bar 7. Moon Dog Mane never clicked with me and this new Soulmotor track is following that same path.

Oops, forgot about that one. Yea, his one solo album I have is pretty good. Just got lost in the shuffle. Haven't played that one in awhile.

His latest solo album is acoustic, more like folk/country. Beware! Haha.

And stay away from Tommy Skeoch's Freakbucket album. It's pretty bad.
