Has anyone heard of this late 80's band? What are your thoughts about them?

A quick check over at HeavyHarmonies has people saying, "Great CD, solid rock & roll", "sheerly awesome", "These guys ruled", "This was my favorite band..." and "I HAVE OVER 3,000 CD'S IN MY COLLECTION AND THIS ONE IS IN MY TOP TEN. ITS ONE OF THOSE CDS THAT IS JUST PERFECT IN EVERY WAY."

Your thoughts?

It sounds like a Bon Jovi wannabe. Good for what it is...but very early Bon Jovi...

I have that album. It's good. I believe it was a 1990 MCA release...by that point any band that had any long haired guys in was being signed by MCA and fired out sans any type of promotion.

BLUE TEARS is super produced, ultra slick hair metal. Nice tight pop metal. It is far from putrid. As Shawn stated very Bon Jovi/later Def Leppard sort of stuff.

It is indeed VERY slick and has that ultra-stacked, Def Leppard type of backing vocal style...good hooks, though.

Bon Jovi meets Def Leppard (Adrenalized-era).

I don't not mind pop metal and I actually like Bon Jovi, but this band I felt was a little too late and never cared for them.

I have a hard time calling this "pop metal" or even "hair metal". There is nothing metal about it. I'd be hard pressed to even call it "hard rock". It has no edge. Rather, it's processed guitars, layers of vocals drenched in chorus and other studio effects, digital drums, pop songs, layers and layers of keyboards...this is 80's pop rock.

Exactly. Early Bon Jovi crossed with Hysteria...80s Pop Rock. Very Happy

They did come along a little late, but I never held that against many bands...it was usually the fault of the labels and not the bands.

BLUE TEARS actually had 2 albums surface in the mid 2000's...I think mostly rehashed early material. And the offical "The Innocent Ones" in 2006. Their singer was the only original member by that time, and he passed away in 2009.

Can't really disagree with either one of you, that is what I thought that was the genre they were labeled under, of course I hated 'em so it did not matter to me.

I definitely heard of them. I was living in their hometown of Jackson, TN when they got signed.
