| New album comes out August 26th (at least in Europe). You have to register on their website to hear samples but it sounds good to me. Sounds like they are going back into power metal mode.

| Hmmm...I gave up on this band with Tinnitus Sanctus. They'd been hanging around the fringes of "bands I give up on" since "Rocket Ride". They followed that up with "Hellfire Club" and then Tinnitus and when that turd dropped, I gave up; 3 strikes, yer out. If they're back to more of the Mandrake-style sound, I might be re-interested. _________________ "Don't reenact scenes from 'Platoon' with Charlie Sheen."

| Tinnitus Sanctus was horrible. I can't even listen to that album. Everything before Rock Ride was good, but even that album has some pretty cool songs on it. I still like them though. _________________ |

| Just went to the site to check it out and just the first few seconds I am pleased with the production and the song. Don't give up yet Toho _________________ |

| Tinnitus was okay but disappointing. I actually like Rocket Ride best out of all I've heard from them. |

Listen to Mandrake then get back to me. That's still my favorite by Edguy. Vain Glory Opera is good too. If they're back to that style I might be interested in getting the new one. |

That's how I feel about it. It seemed like Tobias used up all his good music on Avantasia and used the leftovers for that album. |

| I was there for the album's listening session and I'll level with you guys; it's a lot better than Tinnitus Sanctus. We got to hear everything but one track, only once of course, and it seemed like a really enjoyable album. There's some interesting experimentation (there's one track that goes a bit over the top with celtic influences, but it works) and a lot of modern-Avantasia-esque choruses, but it all gels quite well. It's heavy and melodic and may not match the best of the band's career (namely Mandrake), but it feels more like Edguy than the last one. Definitely worth checking out, as far as I'm concerned. I'm looking forward to listening to it at home, at least. As a cheeky extra, here's me looking super awkward in the studio on the far left, in the green flannel. Magical. Got to interview Tobi and Felix for a magazine after and they were both an absolute joy to chat to. Very friendly, very funny. |

| I havent really enjoyed much Edguy has done since Mandrake - with that one, Vain glory Opera and Theater of Salvation being some of the best power metal out there. I have enjoyed the Superheroes EP though.
Ill give the new one a listen. Still can hope they can pull it off... _________________ |

| Man, I thought they really nailed it with Hellfire Club, in terms of the power metal stuff. That one, to me, had far more identity than their previous albums. Rocket Ride is fantastic, but that's because I love catchy 80s rock, and aside from a couple tunes that's pretty much what Rocket Ride is. It does include "Trinidad," though, which I find to be one of the most annoying songs I've ever heard.
I didn't mind Tinnitus Sanctus, but it's definitely a step down from anything they've done before. Either way, I still think it's a decent album with a few really good tunes. Looking forward to this new one. _________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

| I can't believe i still own nothing by these guys.
Saw mandrake sitting on the shelves a few months ago, but was lazy to buy it.
When i came back the next day, it was gone.

| Great pic, Smindas! I-N-V-U
I'm looking forward to the new Edguy. It can only be an improvement over the last one. I've enjoyed pretty much everything from them, and Hellfire Club was a pinnacle for me.
My problem with the band is that Tobias let it grow in similar direction as avantasia. It would be better if the 2 were a little more separate. _________________ |

| I definitely agree with that last comment, kmorg. One of my biggest issues with Tinnitus is that is sounded like a really watered down version of The Scarecrow. It didn't sound much like Edguy. I also agree with Hellfire Club being a peak of sorts for the band, simply because it was a great in-between stage of the early power and the later hard rock. From what I remember, Age of the Joker leans more towards the epic metal side of things, with lengthy tracks constituting most of it. It'll be interesting to see what the reaction is. |

| I just recently sold off the few Edguy discs I had. Hellfire Club was decent and I almost held onto that one, but I just didn't see myself listening to them much anymore. I think my European power metal days are over. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| I'm surprised. I thought that maybe Edguy was done and Tobias was going to concentrate solely on Avantasia. Glad to see they're still plugging along.I really like the Edguy I do have. I'm missing a few of their earlier releases but have from the Savage Poetry up to Rocket Ride.I haven't gotten nor heard anything from Tinnitus Sanctus but do plan on getting it and this new one eventually. |

| Cool pic Smindas!
I think Hellfire Club is my favorite out of all of them. I remember when that first came out though the US version had a glitch in the song The Piper Never Dies. I think it was right around the 3:00 mark where it lead into a guitar solo or something Tobias holds out the "Piper Never Diiiiiiiiiiiiies" and there was like this wierd sound. I exchanged it 3 times and they all did the same thing. I finally ended up buying and import version with bonus tracks that was better anyway, but does anyone have that version with the glitch or did anyone even notice it? _________________ |

| Mandrake and Hellfire Club are good but I still prefer Rocket Ride. Power metal isn't a favorite genre of mine by a long shot so I was more in tune with the more hard rock of Rocket Ride. |

| HELLFIRE CLUB was the first Edguy I owned. I liked it well enough, but when I picked up ROCKET RIDE it did nothin' for me. Haven't checked in with the band at all since that one.
I agree with Eyesore that the ROCKET RIDE track "Trinidad" is irritating as hell. _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

| I was searching up the different versions for this and I see that there is going to be an autographed version. Anyone know if there is a 2cd autographed version and where I can get it from? I found it on amazon but I believe its only 1 disc. Play.com has it as well but they won't ship here. Any ideas? _________________ |
