| I've always been a major fan of this band. For some reason they seemed to really have it all for me. They weren't a typical 'hair metal' band by any means. They always had a much heavier, almost trad metal vibe going (much like early Stryper). I did a search here and the only 'living' RATT thread was about the new album. This thread is just a tribute to RATT! Any fans? RATTIFY yourself! What are your fave albums, moments, memories, etc? |

| I like the early stuff: E.P/Out of the Cellar/Invasion of Your Privacy/Dance. I really felt like the band lost their edge after that, as the riffs were less aggressive and the lyrics became ridiculous. I did get a chance to hear their latest effort, and for the most part I really enjoyed the album. |

| I've still not picked up their latest album yet, but I like all the stuff from them that I've heard. I like "Reach for the Sky", "Out of the Cellar" and "Invasion of Your Privacy" all almost equally. Those are my three faves. "Dance" and the "EP" are close runner ups. |

| I dig'em. Like most, I was a big fan of their first few records, started to lose interest by the time REACH FOR THE SKY came out in '88, they were totally phoning it in on that one.
Didn't pay much attention to any Ratt related doin's for a long time till the buzz started about the new album last year, I heard a few very promising samples and ended up buying that CD and liking it a lot. I'd say it was probably the most pleasant surprise of 2010 for me. _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

| Ratt is a band that I've never felt the need to delve any deeper than the greatest hits package. I don't love 'em, don't hate 'em. I'm not a big fan of Stephen Pearcy's vocals I guess. I think he was the weakest link there in the band. Distinctive and unique, but grating to me. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| I know I'm in the minority in liking "Reach for the Sky", and I admit there are a few filler songs on there. But overall for me, the album really shines. |

| First time I heard RATT was on the Metal Massacre compilation. Loved it. They had such a big hook, a major Aerosmith vibe, yet those heavy guitars! Ratt were 80's heavy metal!
Still love the EP best of all, but they really haven't released anything I don't like. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Like most here I like the early stuff the best. Out of the Cellar or Invasion of your Privacy would be my favorite.I can agree with Freddy by the time Reach for the Sky came out I had lost most interest in them. |

| Fun band....When I first saw them. Robbin Crosby was the focal point of the band. That was in San Diego and they had this killer guitar player (Jake E. Lee) By the time I saw them again in El Lay, they had this "other" killer guitar player (Warren D.) I lost interest after "Invasion Of Your Privacy", athough I did buy Ratt-n-Rol" and enjoyed the tunes on that from later lps. Like I said, saw them alot in the clubs and caught a few shows when they were doing arenas. The one thing I coud never do was buy a concert shirt. Something "wrong" with walkin around wearing a shirt that says "Ratt" on it. At least in the neighborhood I grew up in _________________ |

| This is one of those bands that I just don't "get". My old college roommate and I agree on music about 95% of the time but even back then, this was one we disagreed on. I think my main gripe is Pearcy's voice; I just don't like the tone of it but I can't really explain why. Eh, I think we all have bands that we like/dislike and can't really identify why. Ratt falls into that category for me; I own zero Ratt albums but thanks to my roommate, I've heard most of them. _________________ "Don't reenact scenes from 'Platoon' with Charlie Sheen."

Firstly, welcome back!
Secondly, I totally agree with your first post - RATT rules!
Easily one of the best 80s metal bands - whether you consider them glam or straight up 80s metal ... their 80s albums are just superb |

| I loved the first two full length Ratt albums 'Out of the Cellar' and 'Invasion of your Privacy' and always thought the strength of that band was Warren DeMartini, the guy had incredible sound, and was one of the best guitarist in that genre IMO. |

me too. Especially "Out Of The Cellar". I love the sound and production on that record. The other day I listened to the vinyl LP and pretty much listened to only the dual guitars. Love how they sound on it, especially DeMartini. |
