| I didnt really enjoy Megatropolis all that much. It was rather weak compared to their other albums... _________________ |

| Never heard this one. Last Iron Savior I heard was BATTERING RAM ('04?) and though it was OK, it seemed that I.S. were finally starting to succumb to the same "running in place" syndrome that so many of their Euro-power metal comrades did. Start out strong with a killer album or two, then start spinning their wheels... _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

| This was the IS album that made me give up on them. I like their earlier stuff but as FF said, they seemed to just keep putting out the same album over and over. It's called "Hammerfall-itis". _________________ "Don't reenact scenes from 'Platoon' with Charlie Sheen."

| I own Megatropolis; it's not their best, but it's a good album just the same. I recommend The Omega Man, the title track, and Farewell and Goodbye. |

| Put it this way. I usually don't trade off any CDs. I just keep them in any event that I may be interested in listening to the CD again someday. I'd be willing to trade this one. |

There is just no pleasing you is there? If some bands carry the same sound you reject them. But other bands, if they change their sound any you reject them. |

There's a difference between "carrying the same sound" and "putting out the exact same bread in a new wrapper year after year."
Look at the Ramones, Motorhead, or AC/DC. Each band has kept the same sound for years 'n' years, yet each album in their discographies still has a certain "somthin' somethin'" that differentiates them from one another. I could listen to the entire Ramones discog one after the other, all the way thru, and never get bored. But with someone like HammerFall, I'll start to get snoozy after the second or third album.
Just my opinion of course. _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

You're right and I can't explain it either. |

| I like their older stuff a lot better. This isn't terrible, but it doesn't live up to Condition Red, for example.

I agree. Megatropolis just came across as uninspired and bland compared to their other material. Iron Savior has some really good material, it just isnt on this album..._________________ |

Though I stand by its being a good album, I must agree to this. Their earlier stuff was phenomenal IMO, and this wasn't half bad, but it left a lot to be desired from the old days, or even Battering Ram, which I felt had a lot of instant classic quality songs on it. I think they can pull off a rebound if they make a new album.
I should really finish my Complete Works of these guys... |
