| I've lost interest in IE for a long time, but having Stu in there will definitely make me check this out |

| I've lost interest in IE too. But it's not 'just' IE. I've kinda been losing interest in a lot of power metal anymore.
I'm actually more into hard rock/AOR/glam metal these days than I am into power metal.
But I think it might be just a season I'm going through. We'll see ... |

Welcome to the club! I've always been a big AOR/MHR fan but these days it's grown into an obsession. If anything smells of AOR, MHR, glam/sleeeze, or pop metal (moreso the first two and last one but sometimes it's almost impossible for me to tell the difference between some pop metal and glam/sleeze) chances are I will pick it up (if I can afford it that is).
I still like power, thrash, death, and other metal genres but I mix and match most of the time. For instance the playlist I'm doing right now alternates between MHR/AOR and thrash (i.e. the first album I listened to was from Giant and right now I'm listening to Annihilator). |

Ditto, but I'll have to hear some wickedly awesome samples before I'll purchase anymore Iced Earth. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| Like one or two others have said I've also lost a bit of interest in iced earth over the last couple of years.
I'll always love their earlier material but the last decent album they did in my opinion was the glorious burden. The last two albums I found a bit boring. Ok so they each had a couple of decent tunes but contained a lot of average material and what was with the whole hoopla of getting Matt barlow back only for him to sod off after one album!
Neither of the last two albums contained any decent solos either. If this album is more of the same then I'll pass thanks, no matter how good the new vocalist is. |
