KISS Alive! On Vinyl On Ebay

Subject: KISS Alive! On Vinyl On Ebay Fri Sep 02, 2011 5:57 am

Question: I'm seeing vinyl copies of KISS Alive! on ebay. The catalogue number is NPLP 7020 UY. I'm trying to find out if these are original copies released in 1975 or something else. I've looked at several KISS related websites and as far as I can tell the catalogue number for the Alive lp released in '75 should be NBLP 7020 (Neil Bogart Long Player 7020, I presume), not NPLP 7020 UY.

I know there is a wealth of knowledge on this board, does anyone have any information about this?

I lost out on the copy I was bidding on. My final bid was forty dollars as time expired, but alas, it wasn't enough. But my new goal is to eventually own all of the KISS records on vinyl again. I did have them all, up to and including Anilmalize, before I joined the navy back in '85. I left them with a family member never expecting them to be sold without my permission. Oh well, what are you gonna do.

I am used to seeing these on most of my vinyl's

I only had the vinyls..maybe I had the booklet too.

I used to have the Canadian pressing , think it was on K-Tel or Quality records, but the labels were plain typeface, and the record labels were coloured blue, yellow,and red I think.

Destroyer was the first real record album I owned and loved. I bought it from my older brother for like two dollars back in '76 or '77. He was disappointed because Destroyer didn't sound like the early KISS albums. It was also the only KISS album I had with the blue Bogart label. All the other KISS albums I bought had the desert tan label.

hello, im a new member here and was looking at your post of the Alive centre rings and i have a question for you. My copy of the album has the blue label but it has the "SHE" publishing info on all 4 labels not just the 1 like yours shows. thank you very much for replying to my question.i'd been to kiss faq's first myself and got the same as you, thats how i ended up at this site looking for extra information on the labels. do you by any chance have a rough idea how many copies were made in the original issue of the album when it was released ? thanks!

This is a common occurrence, the artwork was completed prior to the final song order being decided on (or it was changed at the last minute).

thanks a heap for your help mate, but you wouldnt believe after searchin the internet hi n low for info. i decided to go old school and check it up in a book, and wow it had everything i needed to know and alot more. so im gonna type it up here and i hope its is helpful too anybody that was in the same spot as me.

BLUE LABELS
As stated earlier, there are three different Casablance Blue Labels.
Blue 1: Used only for copies related to the LP KISS labeled NB9001, this was the original, Casablanca
label. Obviously, if you look for the code number on the label, you will assure yourself of
having a collectible copy. What sets this label apart from the other Blue Labels is the phrase
at the bottom of the label stating Casablance Records, Inc. Manufactured and distributed by
Warner Bros. Records Inc. / Made In U.S.A This first version was used during the period that
Warner Brothers Records distributed Casablance Records.
Blue 2: Beginning with KISS NBLP 7001, this label was used for all LP'S up to and including Alive!
across the bottom of the label is the sentence, Manufactured and Distributed by Casablanca,
Records, Inc. / Made in U.S.A Copies of Hotter Than Hell, Dressed To Kill, and Alive! with this
label qualify as an original label pressings.
Blue 3: This label was utilized for early pressings of Destroyer. It states at the bottom of the label,
Manufactured and Distributed by Casablanca Records, Inc. 8255 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles,
California 90046. Made In U.S.A All previous releases were pressed with this label; thus you can
have a Blue Label copy of the first four LP'S that are not original label pressings. At some
some point in the near future this will become a major issue when buying and selling copies of
KISS, Hotter Than Hell, Dressed To Kill and Alive! A Blue 3 label of any of these is not an
original press. Blue 3 labels were phased out early in the 1976 sales surge of Destroyer.

Any Kiss album is worth having, I wondered if anybody would go off and check there copies. I was lucky enough to find out i had an original, But for some reason i still have to find out why the printing is different on my copy though.....cya later and take it easy mate!!
