| Just ordered this one from Laser's Edge. Ken Golden, owner of Laser's Edge, had this to say about it: | Quote: | | WOW!! Here is an album of the year candidate. Joseph Magazine are a progressive metal band from Poland. Their stock in trade is epic symphonic metal with a touch of cyber metal thrown in. The sound is huge and very much synth driven but laced with crunch and blistering guitar solos. Primarily instrumental the album is sparsely populated with vocals and sound bites. The music has a comforting cinematic feel - you could easily envision this as a soundtrack. I'm reminded of bands like Gone, Riverside, and Dream Theater. I think its the band's objective to have their music remove you from reality and will put you into a prog metal dream state. MESMERIZING! BUY OR DIE!!! |
Typically, when it comes to a music seller, you can't really believe their praise when they're trying to sell something. But in Golden's case, if you buy a lot from Laser's Edge, you'll see how honest he is. If he doesn't really dig something, he'll say so, even if he's trying to sell it.
It's weird, and maybe not the best way to run a business, but I like the honesty. And I really can't recall anything he's either released through his labels or praised being a letdown to my ears. So if he says buy or die, I buy.
Those clips above apparently have no vocals, so you can hear stuff with vocals here:

Weird name, too. But I guess if Germans can get away with calling a band Guano Apes, then some Poles can call themselves Joseph Magazine._________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

| Haha, bonus points for working in an obscure Guano Apes reference I don't listen to Symphonic/Prog/Power Metal (though I'll admit to watching HB vids for Johanna ) but I checked the clips out and these guys are definitely talented. |

| Stupid name. Maybe it sounds cooler in their native tongue. Music sounds pretty cool though. This description didn't exactly thrill me... | Quote: | | Their stock in trade is epic symphonic metal with a touch of cyber metal thrown in. The sound is huge and very much synth driven |
..but since the band Riverside was also referenced, I gave 'em a shot. Cool stuff if I'm in the right mood I think. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| I can't wait to get it. I bought it, and the new albums by The Tangent and White Willow. Gonna be a prog week next week.
Have you heard Sun Caged? They've been around for a while, but I finally scored their debut a few days. It's excellent! _________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

| I too just ordered this disc along with the latest Voyager disc from Ken/LE. I also picked up with it Kingcrow - Phlegethon because at $11.00, I could not find it cheaper.
I am also verymuch looking forward to the new Haken. |

| Too many releases! Until I get a job (very soon methinks-fingers crossed) I'm going to have to wait. Sadly, even for the new Iced Earth. I do have the new Edguy comming to me and I already pre-ordered the new Redemtion several weeks ago. |

| I can honestly add the new Voyager to my top 10 of 2011 as well. And if the Kingcrow - Phlegethon disc was new this year, it too would have to be added. I hit the jackpot with my LE order this time. |
