RIP - I can't stand Apple computers, but he did have an enourmous impact on the digital world.

Also, why do we feel the need to preempt our condolences with opinion? I notice it in threads about passed musicians, and again in this thread..."I don't like what he did, but..." Nobody asked you...if you can't offer condolences without injecting negativity, don't bother.

Can't say I didn't see it coming as his health was obviously deteriorating despite claims to the contrary. Definitely sad news though. I use PCs for the most part (not necessarily by choice) but I've always had a soft spot for Apple products. I also collect old computers and I have quite a few old Apple II computers and compact Macs that I maintain, as well as the first Mac I ever bought (a IIsi for $20 at a thrift shop). Nerdy and proud.

RIP Steve. I just wonder how Apple will fare without him. I expect they'll continue to grow and do just fine, but it should be an interesting next couple of months and years ahead.

Steve spent a very long time creating the road map for Apple and choosing the team that would follow in his footsteps, this was done prior to him stepping down.

Apple's momentum should carry them just fine going forward, as will Pixar.
