| The best doom band I've heard in the last couple of years is Nomad Son from Malta. Two albums so far, both excellent. They have a unique sound with driving (not atmospheric) keyboards and a vocalist that sometimes reminds me of Udo or Bobby Blitz. They also have a lot of Christian content, but not preachy. I think Ult would love them. |

| Candlemass (2005) and Death Magic Doom (2009) are two outstanding newer Candlemass CDs. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Virgin Black are doom? Always thought they were a 'goth' band with symphonic elements. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Yeah, I don't see them as doom at all. _________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

| I also like Crowbar. They are not pure doom but have a heavy doom influence... Some have called them "Doomcore" but they are usually referred to as Sludge. |

| I also really like the 1st Pyogenesis album before they became a pop punk type band. Their 1st album was called Waves of Erotasia. Really killer death doom! |

That's actually their third release. Or third official release, I guess. Their first official release was the Ignis Creatio EP, which is even better.
Such a great band on those first few releases, though. And then...God, who knows what happened. How a band can go from doom-death to pop-punk is beyond me. _________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

They wanted to make enough money to eat.

How would you refer to them these days? Do you still like 'em? |

| oh yeah, i still like them a lot. i would just call them doom these days though. the punk edge is still there at times, but it's only in traces these days. i actually wish it was a little more prominent again. i'd say less than 10% of the tracks on the more recent albums have that influence. _________________ |
