| Some really good bands with odd names do exist... - Blind Guardian. Wonderful band, but that name, oh well, seems better fit for a doom/goth band than a flamboyant power metal band. I'd expect something more flashy, like what their Italian counterparts have got. Or rather, most Euro power metal bands.
- Rage. You don't want to be heard in public saying you "like Rage", as you'd be frowned upon. Worse, many still confuse Rage/Avenger with an annoyance who rake up questionable socialist issues while making big money in Los Angeles. Their label? Capitalist Sony Music.
- Nocturnal Rites. At least this is a nod to the time when they were a death metal band.
- Vicious Rumors. You get the feeling they're some kind of 80s boogie-metal or glam band. Not at all.
- Most hardcore/metalcore/death bands (and many alternative acts) fit in here.

| I generally think band with the word Steel in them are very cheesy and uninspired. They are not the worst names (those are for the medico-grind core bands) but Sacred Steel and the like just turn me off from the moment I hear the name. I know it will be some cheesy power metal and while I have nothing against power metal (much like with black metal, the pioneering bands are awesome) I can't really digest newer and all the clones bands very well.
