Dan Nelson says drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello and guitarist Scott Ian falsely stated in “numerous interviews” that he had “abruptly resigned” after getting sick, forcing a cancelation of a tour.
The Long Island native says his ex-bandmates’ “intentional defamation” has caused him a loss of income and damaged his reputation.
The Manhattan federal court filing further charges that Nelson co-wrote the tunes on the band’s latest album, Worship Music, but hasn’t gotten his fair share of the profits. |
I like Anthrax but I do feel like they really do screw over their singers when something better comes along.

| I read the title and thought the band Nelson was suing ANTHRAX.

Ah well, who didn't see this coming? Band fires singer, singer sues band. It's all part of the game. Of course, he doesn't sue until the band puts out the album and starts touring. Wait till the money starts rolling in before you stake your claim, right?

We still don't know why he was fired do we? The album was done and ready for release. It doesn't make sense. Why fire the lead singer so abruptly unless he did something really, really awful.
Until the while story comes out, I'm having a hard time believing they fired Dan because he was "too sick to perform". There's more to this that noone is talking about.

I dont know - i doubt he would sue knowing he was the one at fault... some people do it and hope they dont get caught but i doubt he wants any dirty laundry out in the public view..._________________  |

If he didn't want his dirty laundry aired in public, bringing about a lawsuit isn't the way to go. Maybe he's just hoping for a payout? "I'll sue for $2.65 mil, but if we settle for $500,000. I'll go away and never bother you again."
I dunno. It's just hard to know who to root for here when we don't know all the facts.
