| Good news, or sign that the apocalypse is nigh? I leave it up to you to decide. Reunited TRIXTER To Release New Studio Album - Dec. 14, 2011 Frontiers Records has announced the signing of TRIXTER for the worldwide release of the band's reunion album in the spring of 2012.
Formed in Paramus, New Jersey in 1984, TRIXTER's self-titled debut album attained gold status (reaching #28 on The Billboard 200 in 1990), and spawned three minor hit singles: "Surrender" (#72), "One In A Million" (#75), and "Give It To Me Good" (#65). Despite the fact that none of the singles made the Top 40 or garnered much radio airplay, the videos for all three tunes were in heavy rotation on MTV (especially "Give It To Me Good", which was #1 on the channel for several weeks). A follow-up effort, "Hear", came out in 1992, but failed to reach the same commercial heights. The band recorded an album of cover songs, "Undercovers", in 1994, which garnered little commercial success, and TRIXTER broke up shortly after its release.
TRIXTER announced the reunion of its original lineup in 2007 and has since played a number of shows, including the Rocklahoma festival in 2008.
Comments TRIXTER guitarist Steve Brown: "The band has been playing together for the last four years, so making a new record is the next logical step. We are all very excited.
"The new CD will be entitled 'New Audio Machine' and is a classic style melodic hard rock album. All the sounds people have loved about TRIXTER will be there... Great songs, big guitar riffs, catchy vocals and a huge bottom end. A total big rock production!!!"
TRIXTER's current lineup features Pete Loran on lead vocals and guitar, Steve Brown on lead guitar, P.J. Farley on bass and Gus Scott on drums.
"We take pride in the fact that we are one of the few bands of our genre that have all original members," says Brown.
With an arsenal of great new songs and a catalogue of two successful releases, TRIXTER is looking forward to bringing its songs to the live stage. "We are hoping to land a support slot on one of the major summer tours," says Brown. "And we finally hope to play our first European tour as well." _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

| Frontiers has a damn good track record, so I'm optimistic this will be good. _________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

I'll take "Sign of the Apocalypse" for $200, Alex.
Never cared for these guys. If I remember correctly, I caught the tail end of their performance as an opening act. Great White might have been the headliner. Don't recall. Anywho, they were just too poppy and happy for my tastes. The crowd was happy to see them leave the stage.
Eh, if they want to record and tour and try to make a buck, good for them. Go for it. No skin off my nutsack. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| I hated them and they came in at the tail end of the hair metal movement, I saw them opening for the Scorpions and I was happy to see them go, I am not sure but I do remember their album sold ok at the time of its release. |

| Other than "Give It To Me Good" from the S/T, I've pretty much disliked everything by this band. _________________ "Don't reenact scenes from 'Platoon' with Charlie Sheen."

I remember them getting LOTS of airtime on MTV with their videos. Oddly enough, I seem to remember them and Jackyl (with that lumberjack song) being some of the last 'hair bands' to get some heavy promotion from MTV. Prime time rotation. Shortly afterwards, it was all grunge and alt-nation stuff. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

If memory serves, they got a gold record for their first album. By the time their second one (HEAR) came out a couple of years later, everyone had changed the channel, so to speak, and the album sank like JFK Junior. _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

| I remember the video for "Give It To Me Good", but didn't care for 'em... they were too lightweight, like Nelson or Firehouse. |

| Good news, I like these guys, seen them many years ago in a small club in Hallandale, FL called the Button South. The only souviner I salvaged was a wristband for over 21 I got at the door. I wrote Trixter on it. As for the show, I remember little!!!!!

| I like their first album, so i'll probably give this a listen. Hopefully they'll make use of some of the great songwriters they have on Frontiers Records. |

Firehouse were actually heavier than those two... And in fact, even those two had some pretty good tracks when you get past the hits (and I do actually like the hits from Nelson's debut) ... |

| Saw them open for KISS (along with Faster Pu$$ycat) on the Revenge tour. They were ok,I guess but nothing special (although my wife liked them). I had their debut but eventually got rid of it and haven't had the desire to reacquire it. |

| I think Frontiers did wonders for Nelson on their last album and I am hopeful they will do it also for Trixter. I think their albums are ok but i am interesting to see what they can do after all these years.. _________________ |

| I liked the second album as it had more of an edge, as opposed to the s/t which sounded like NKOTB attempting metal. Hopefully the new album will sound closer to Hear. |

| Just in case anybody cares, Trixter's new single "Tattoos & Misery" is now available via iTunes, and of course it's been YouTubed.

| Not bad. Not terribly original (let's face it, that's a well-worn chord progression and vocal melody), but then again, no one listens to that genre for originality. It kind of reminds me of Paul Laine-era Danger Danger. |

| Great! brings back memories!
Good analogy on the old Danger Danger, this was definitely Trixter though, I can see myself jamming down the road with this back in 1989 or so.... lol
I am certainly looking forward to getting this. |
