| Took my son to see 'The Muppets' over the Christmas break while momma & sister when to see Disney on Ice. I enjoyed it, but it went over his head with the jokes & references. He was entertained enough though.
Watched 'Horrible Bosses' the other night. Pretty funny. Better than I expected actually. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| "X-Men: First Class"
Prequel to the X-Men saga takes us back to the early 60s, when Charles Xavier and Eric (Magneto) Lensherr were friends and eventually teammates. With the help of the U.S. government, they recruit the first squadron of X-Men and then battle against the Hellfire Club, who want to use the Cuban Missle Crisis to kick off a nuclear war.
I had my doubts about this one since it had an entirely new cast (except for Hugh Jackman, who gets a brief, hilarious cameo as Wolverine that lasts about ten seconds) and a new setting but this turned out to be a damn cool flick. It may be the best X-Men movie yet. _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

I was impressed. I borrowed this from the library but I may have to add it to my permanent DVD collection.
I even liked Kevin Bacon as the villain. At first I was like "Kevin Bacon? Really?" but he pulled it off. _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

| "Green Lanten" (2011)
Based on the DC comic, Ryan Reynolds stars as hot shot test pilot Hal Jordan, the first Earthling ever to join the ranks of the fabled Green Lantern Corps. Shortly after his induction he has to save Earth from the alien baddie Parallax.
I usually can't stand Ryan Reynolds but I dug this flick anyway, even though I've never been more than a casual Green Lantern fan. Plenty of action and cool special effects. There seemed to be a lot of hate for this flick when it was released, so I guess I was expecting much worse, instead I was pleasantly surprised. _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"
