A bit progressive, but still with plenty of power. My recent discovery - Shadow Keep: Crimson Glory anyone?

I've been listening to a lot of HADES lately. I think "Damnation" may be my favorite. Love those drums!

Primal Fear.
Also, go to Youtube and type in Power metal bands. You'll get about a thousand hits with every flavor of power metal you might seek. Pick your favorites, buy their albums!

On a related note, if you like them, check out STS 8 Mission. GB ex-vocalist Xavier Drexler (R.I.P)was the singer of theirs. Traditional German speed.

I had to have posted this at least 3 times, but even though I like the song it has to rank almost as high on the "cheesy japanese" meter.

Thanks. In Thy Power is one of the best albums in it's genre in the last 10 years IMO. Ex-singer Glen Metal has a voice like a more melodic Rolf Kasparak. However, too few metal fans seem to know about them (mainly because Limb music is more associated with Euro-power-i.e. flowery metal-than it is more traditional metal).

I dont know, maybe.I never thought of them as thrash though. They sure have some elements of thrash but I would call it power metal especially on Cycle of Pain.

Tarot - for Marco Hietala
Any album that has Zachary Stevens on vocals
Iron Savior (Piet Sielck)
Pretty Maids (Ronnie Atkins)
Falconer- particularly for Mathias Blad
The last three Metal Church albums (Ronny Munroe)
Rage (Peavy Wagner, particularly their later albums)
Paragon (mostly Andreas Babuschkin)- again, particularly the last four albums
Iced Earth- of course, with all three voices
Firewind- since the coming of Apollo
Anything with Jorn Lande on vocals
Some of them are not classified exactly as power metal, but are borderline power metal.
