First saw Kiss on TV in 1976. Bought Rock N Roll Over and Alive not long afterward. Saw them on the Destroyer tour. Listened to them non-stop until 1979 when Dynasty came out. Even though I was only 9 years old I could tell it was a sellout record. Switched to listening to Queen, Pink Floyd, etc.

Creatures Of The Night re-ignited my interest again, one of my friends played the song War Machine for me and I went out and bought it the next day. Didn't really like Lick It Up (except for the title track), liked Animalize even less...listened to Asylum once and decided it was the worst album I ever heard...haven't paid any attention to them since.

Then you missed Revenge, which is a really good album!

I've heard it, one of my roomates had it and played it some. I liked it okay, but not enough to run out and buy it. I really think it's an age thing with me, once I hit about 15 my tolerance for Kiss had come to an end.

KISS is one of the best bands ever. I didn't grow up in the 70s, so by the time I got into them, nobody cared anymore. My favorite album would have to be Destroyer. I think it's a great balance of their heavier stuff and their more poppy material. Unfortunately, most kids my age merely remember KISS as the makeup wearing guys who sang "Rock and roll all nite". Such a shame. I always felt that their makeup and stage persona overshadowed their music, which is also a cryin shame.

Don't be surprised if it does happen....

You can't fail to realize that a reuion project can be done that just doesn't involve the original 4. Vinnie and Bruce are still relevant and have been hangong in the shadows for a bit, silent in the creativity dept. The marketing maching of KISS could do wonders with a Komple KISS reKording ? The possibilities are endless !!!

I am more tolernt in regards to KISS's 80's make up than detuned. My favorite KISS is Creatures of the NIght, and Vinnie Vincent, Bob Kulick and Rick Derringer, all who were uncredited did some best guitar work on any KISS release.

I liked "Lick it Up" and still thinks it holds up pretty well. At the time of its release I thought "Animalize" was a great album, I still like the album but it has lost some of its allure for me, too 80's sounding. "Asylum" I thought was terrible, KISS just repeating the success of Animalize, not as successfully. Now I think the album is ok, but not one of their better releases. I do like "Crazy Nights" even if it's as commerical as a Bon Jovi CD, but it has not dated very well. The two new songs on "Smashes, Thrashes, and Hits' the less asid about them the better.

I wouldn't mind some "new" Kiss material. I know it's not all them, but I am getting pretty bored with all of the compilations and re releases and such.

Wasn't there talk a few months back that KISS were going to release a box set with demos, unreleased etc, or was that just a rumor or in my case wishful thinking.

No not that one I have that box set, I could swear I saw in interview with Gene Simmons that they are plans to release another box set with only demos and rarieties but I have not heard a thing about it since. Has anyone else heard or seen this in print?

I think that was just Gene talking about Gene songs.

I have Paul Stanley - One Live KISS at the top of my Netflix queue! Hopefully they send it out today!

Joker that was the one I was speaking of, thank you, now my question is, has any info been released on this or was just a vague plan by Mr Moneybags?

I think a vague plan by mr moneybags himself - for every 10 things he mentions, 3 of them come to pass. Makes sense from Gene - that's a business philosopy - invest in 10 ideas and 3 will come to pass.

True I seem to remember in some old interviews that at one time they had planned a KISS theme park.

Kiss is one of my all-time favorite bands. Rock And Roll Over is my fave. IMO they never released a dud, Unmasked,Elder,Dynasty, and Carnival Of Souls are good albums too.
