Sakic, Sundin, Bure, and Oates voted in.

What a class! With the exception of Sundin (just me personally, I always felt he was extremely overrated, but always liked the Leafs), this is one of the great ones. I started watching hockey the year Bure and Vancouver lost in 7 games to the Rangers and CST winner Richter. And Sakic, even though I have/do LOATH those Avs, is one of the best scorers I've ever watched. Oates is a classic and very glad to see him go. That old line in Boston with Cam was awesome. But it's still fun to see some of the best players the 90's offered going in. I haven't seen his career numbers, I know he never did a thing in the playoffs, so I don't quite get the Sundin vote. But there's no doubt he had a huge presence in the NHL for quite awhile. I think he scored 50 goals once or twice....maybe somebody here can vouch for him.

SAKICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC. Man, those were the teams huh? Goal scoring machines. Watched Oates with Neely as Neely was a Winterhawk in his junior years. Cam was awesome until the injuries got him.

Dude, Sakic's wrist shot was the cause of many a living-room-tantrum for me as a Sharks fan. His was truly the twisted wrister! And yes especially that 2001 team, Forseburg, Drury, Tanguay, Yelle, Hejduk....that was one helluva goal scoring machine.

I honestly am disappointed that Pat Burns still isn't there. That is just ludicrous.

I am very happy to see Joe Sakic get in. He was one of the best players of that era.

Yeah, but somehow Burns gets ignored every year. Every year the HOF commitee gets critized for it and yet they don't care.

Also Sundin over Shanahan is a joke.

All others definitely deserve it.

Never liked Shanahan as a fan of the Avs but why he's not in the hall and Sundin is is a joke. And Burns, we'll, I think it's politics at this point.

I feel like I'm in the dark here...what's the story on Pat Burns?

Do you remember the 2003 finals when NJ won? He was their coach and had a great career as a coach but it was shortened by cancer. I think he wasn't a real likeable guy on the surface and some on the 18 member selection committee are keeping him out. That's it, 18 members, unlike Baseball which has hundreds who vote. There is a pretty big push to get him in so maybe it will happen down the road.

Yeah, I remember. I was glad he finally got a ring as a coach. I somehow missed why he got out of coaching. Bummer. Was that the year they beat Kariya and the Ducks? If so...the Stevens hit on PK was the open ice hit of the century! Du' got knocked out! And then the ducks goalie got the CST...which I thought was stupid...despite his heroics.

That's the series. Same kind of hit that knocked Lindros out for a year.

Actually, Pat Burns, while a strict coach, was loved by his players. Also, when he wasn't coaching, he was reportedly a very nice guy and soft spoken.
