Wow, that really sucks Scott. I've been with State Farm for 17 years and no problems. Maybe we should bail before they screw us like they did you. I think I'll ask a few people I know who they use.

It's crap like this that makes me happy I am with USAA. If you are a veteran Scott, look into them as they are top notch people and have always treated me with respect and dignity.

And it is the cheapest price. I had two vehicles (one a luxury car) and payed less than $60/month for both. With one I pay around $30-35.

From what Ult was explaining, it sounds like State Farm was paying out money left and right to folks that were claiming all this water/pipe damage in the area and they're using a loophole to get out of paying out all these claims overall. It's not just Ult, it's the whole area they are probably trying to get out of.

Yeara ago, in a somewhat similiar situation when I had AAA Auto insurance, PA and especially Philadelphia had some of the highest auto insuarance rates in the country and AAA was trying to pull out of the Philadelphia market altogether. Since they couldn't legally drop you for no reason, they upped their rates so much that folks cancelled voluntarily. Years later, when they tried to get me to come back, I sent them a nice letter telling them to get f**ked.

I've been with Allstate for awhile now. I've put in claims on both my homeowners and auto with no issues.

Best of luck to you though. Fight the good fight and don't let the bastards grind ya down.

Yeah, now that you mention it, State Farm did the same in New Jersey ten or twelve years ago. They used to have a big office complex not far from where I live but out of the blue they suddenly announced that they were leaving the New Jersey market, dropped all of their Jersey customers, packed up their sh*t and left. Last I looked, their former building is still standing there empty.

Naturally the media went berserk on 'em, the whole thing made headlines as a particularly spectacular display of corporate douchebaggery. "Good Neighbor" my ass!

well to be fair car insurance 10 years ago in NJ was hardly a good business to be in. Aside from the accident rates among drivers, the state forced companies to participate in the pool of uninsured motorists. Then there was the litigious nature of people the lawyers who were pretty following ambulances trying to drum up business.

I think everyone gets hurt when people perpetrate insurance fraud. Some companies would still engage in loophole behavior but I think some just dont believe people after seeing the amount of fraud. It ends up hurting those who have legitimate claims.

Once thing I notice every time I am in New Jersey is the sheer number of cars that have dents in them.......

We switched to MetLife temporarily. Expensive unfortunately, but with a claim no one really wanted to take us.

State Farms sucks! I will post my story everywhere in hopes some people will read it not pay them any of their hard earned money.
