"The Rookie" (1990)

Clint Eastwood returns to old school "Dirty Harry" territory as a veteran L.A. cop breaking in a new partner (Charlie Sheen) while investigating a particularly brutal gang of international car thieves. As you might expect, many bullets fly and lotsa stuff blows up in the process. This flick was notorious in its day for the scene in which Clint, who's been taken hostage by the bad guys, is raped (!) by a coked-out Sonia ("Kiss of the Spider Woman") Braga, though Clint doesn't seem to have any problem with it. Lots of cool automotive mayhem too!

American Horror Story: Asylum. They are really pushing the graphic boundaries with this series, I'm amazed at some of the stuff they get away with on this show.

The second season has proved so popular that Season 3 has already been ordered.

TV gets away with a lot of things these days. My dad always told me how freaked out his mother got when they started advertising women's underwear on TV, I could imagine her reaction were she alive today.
lol!
