I've never heard the entire album, but I've always thought of that as almost a goof. Not that I doubt Neil's sincerity to a genre that I'm sure inspired him in his youth, but more of Neil's weird way of giving the finger to a record label that just wanted another hit record. "Let's see you promote this!! Ah-ha-ha-ha!!"
I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
