Not sure whey we are comparing an album from 1973 (Tales) featuring a different lineup with an album released in 2001?  That's almost as ridiculous as comparing Close To The Edge and 90125 back to back, 2 albums featuring different lineups recorded over a decade apart.

Long song discussion + shared band members (most of the main writers) + continued trend of writing and recording long songs = why can't people put these things together and conclude that possibly the band should either continue to make the songs interesting, or not bother with such a length, and now I'm going to decapitate myself and hurl my head into the wall because I shouldn't have to say this.

Can I watch? Self-decapitation sounds entertaining.

Personally, I try not to compare albums that came out over a decade apart, too much time has passed, people age, sounds change, times change, it's not a fair comparison. But that's just the way I look at it. It's like I'm not going to compare Black Sabbath's 13 to any of their original albums, not the exact same lineup and too much time has passed for it to be a fair comparison.

okay, I know Trevor Rabin is Trevor Rabin and I knew what I was getting into, but this might be a little too Trevor Rabin for me. I did buy it for "Endless Dream" and to further complete my Yes collection, so......we will see...still absorbing..
