Just a heads up - went to Ebay - bought Wild Dogs CD -
2 records on one CD ! S/T (1981)  & " Man's Best Friend " (1983)
well, turns out, the Wild Dog's singer was selling it !!
He also included a patch and another CD " DoctorMastermind "
Wild Dogs rock ! Perfect for cruising in the car with windows down -
Cranked "Born To Rock" driving past a cop doing road duty LOL !
Construction workers smiled also -
DoctorMastermind is damn good also -
I highly recomend this Ebay purchase for anyone -

Albums are good. If you don't mind CDr's then go for it.

Like Wild Dogs quite a bit. Already have them on vinyl and CD. Wouldn't mind having the patch. :-)

I have all the Wild Dogs albums on cd. Good stuff. I know Matt McCourt didn't sing on the third album, but I still like it. My CD versions are the "reissues" (wink, wink) from Old Metal Records.

I was listening to Paul DiAnno's KILLERS release -
and some of the songs reminded me of The Wild Dogs -
and they do kind of do look like each other - slightly -
and their voices are somewhat simular - thought it interesting -

He probably takes many forms, like Keanu Reeves.

I'll have to give that a listen, I've never heard any DiAnno stuff outside of Maiden.

months ago i picked up the divebomb records reissue of Reign of Terror

much better than the old reissues

Wild Dogs are such a good band and that album will be my favourite from 'em with the two other ones no far behind.

I have two or three on vinyl from way back. Haven't listened to them in a long, long time.

Woman in Chains off Mans Best Friend is a frickin' metal classic!

Matt is a NWesterner and he was kind enough to get me a goody bag of releases about 10 years ago.

So if one were so inclined to check out Wild Dogs, would I start at the beginning or were they still "finding their sound" early on? Do I need to fast forward a few albums to get to the classic stuff? Any albums to all-out avoid?

Looking for recommendations.

Pick up their first three albums - Wild Dogs, Man's Best Friend and Reign Of Terror.  They've released three albums since then but they were twenty years later and essentially Matt McCourt solo albums. I don't own them, but I wouldn't start with them.  Matt McCourt is the lead singer on the first two albums and that's their classic Shrapnel Records era material.  Those albums are straightforward, Priest-influenced metal. Their third album had a different lead singer and moved toward a more power/speed sound, and it's also quite good.

Agree with the above comment, this is still my favorite song, maybe cause it was my introduction song....

I picked up the first three through CD Baby's $5 section a few months back. Really good albums. Those that came after didn't seem so great, and they, plus all the other associated albums by band members, all sounded like grade-school garage demos. No thanks!

That's what got me interested. I still get a little gun-shy when it comes to buying stuff from their $5 bin. I've been burned too many time on purchases that sound great at first but have no staying power.

That's the quality response I'm looking for. Thanks fellas.
