He lived to be 94, so his life should be truly celebrated. I can't help but think back in the 80's, when David Letterman had this segment Hal Gurnee's Network Time Killers. There was this running joke about Abe Vigoda not being dead, even though some thought he was. The audio sounds like ass on this:

No disrespect but his name is one that people regularly messed up on those "Alive or Dead" quizzes. Most people thought he died a long time ago.

94 years is one helluva long life. And the guy had an unforgettable face. RIP Abe.

Farewell, Tessio. It was just business, not personal.

He almost got the role of the monster in Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein before Peter Boyle got the role.  I would have like to have seen that. R.I.P.

Barney Miller was one of those series that we always watched at the house, it was one of my Mother's favorite shows. Fish was always our favorite character, followed closely by Steve Landesburg as Arthur Dietrich.

R.I.P. Abe and thanks for the good memories.

When I was a kid, I remember him as one of Don Don's henchmen on Cannon Ball Run II. Years later when Barney Miller was on Nick At Night, he was one of the best characters. I also laughed by ass of when he had that part in a Snickers commercial.

My first memories of him were also Barny Miller, as my parents watched that religiously. RIP Fish!

Mike, that role will always be my favorite Abe Vigoda moment ("Money in the bank I tell ya") even though I grew up watching Barney Miller reruns with my Pops.

I've gotta watch that movie again! Luckily, it is now part of Hulu.
