oh god, same.
I hate to be that guy, but that was so many videos that no one's gonna get around to watching all of.

Woah, maybe he's trying to illustrate a point that we were all doing the same thing. Just arbitrarily sharing shit that likely no one will latch onto.

Or maybe I'm looking too deeply into the nuances of discussion on a board of strangers, haha. *shrug*

I like when people arbitrarily share shit on this forum because there's always a chance I might click on something I never heard of and end up having my musical world shaken.

But deluging a million videos in one post just leads to skippage because no one is going to wait for all that stuff to load. Much less wade through it.

I think it's better to post your arbitrary shit in smaller doses....unless you're just trying to piss people off.

I like that Caedmon song. I think I've run across them before during one of my explorations of music with Celtic influences. Sort of reminds me of early Horslips

And damn, that Mellow Candle song is killer. I'll have to seek that album out. Stuff like that is the reason I started this thread; being introduced to new shit that I likely wouldn't have stumbled upon on my own.

Same reaction to Caedmon as well. Two albums added to the wishlist, haha.

Both albums are great. If you want an original copy of the Mellow Candle record, get an extra job! Luckily for you both have been recently re released on both vinyl and CD

I like that a lot; reminds me of a cross between Blackmore's Night and Solas.

Just thought I'd mention the fact that early Fairpoint Convention is amazing.

Early Strawbs is really good as well. Both bands had Sandy Denny for a bit.

I've never heard that Strawbs album but I like some of Sandy's solo stuff.

Here's a few for you Boris2008.

This one was rerecorded by Fairport Convention:

I have All Our Own Work on Lp and the reissue CD from the Strawbs website. I'm a big fan of The Strawbs.

I like folk metal and folk music though I don't explore it nearly as much as I should.  I'm rather picky though, when it comes to folk music I prefer more traditional styles.  Damh the Bard is one artist I enjoy, he plays some really great pagan folk music

Yeah, it's pretty catchy.

Recent stuff by Wino and Conny Ochs (together AND separately) has led to the phrase "dark folk" being coined.

That being said, I can't get enough of it...

Zeppelin's folksy side is part of the reason I love them. Good shit.

I stumbled upon this album pretty much on accident and it's fantastic. Sort of country-tinged, but mostly folk/singer-songwriter in execution. Mary McCaslin's Way Out West may just end up being one of my favorite folk albums I've heard in a long time.

I have to chime in again, some of these songs are great.
Some blend early Kinks, mama and papas, John Denver -
I always thought folk musicians were very gypsy - strong -
Sandy Denny - sad she died at young age -

The Pentangle is fantastic. Love Bert Jansch and John Renbourn's guitarwork.

Not traditionally folk by any means, but Tim Buckley was a folk-singer turned avant-garde genius, and I'm jamming Starsailor and feel obligated to share some. It's like this album's from a whole other planet. I had heard it many times before, even enjoyed it, but today something just clicked. Like I was in the perfect state of mind to just fully appreciate it for what it is; a work of pure Art with a f*ckin' capital A.
