I've never heard any of Pearcy's solo albums. Most solo work tends to be widely panned unless you're Ozzy or Dio or whatnot. I always liked his song Mother Blues from his band Arcade, which I know he redid about once or twice for his solo recordings. Very much not metal, but it has the bluesy spirit pinned down in it. Was his solo work more pop or hard rock or what?

What little of his solo stuff I've heard has mostly sounded like underproduced, warmed-up Ratt leftovers.

Although in the mid 90s he gave the industrial/metal mashup thing a try in a short lived band with Al Pitrelli (Savatage/Megadeth/TSO/etc.) called "Vertex" - I used to have this CD but traded it off ages ago, it didn't do much for me.

I liked the first Arcade album Pearcy done. Not solo stuff but it was still pretty good.

His next album, SMASH, will likely be my favorite of his solo albums (excluding the Arcade records). Beau Hill produced this track:

Newer tracks much better than I expected and the production sounds pretty good, at least on these cheap computer speakers.

Never bothered with his solo work, mainly what little I heard it sounded like tossed off Ratt songs badly produced.

I did like Arcade, good band, and Vertex was good even if the band should have been called Nine Inch Ratt.

Stephen's new album, Smash, is a good listen. The production is strong and the songs come off as sounding quite heavy, unlike on the new Jack Russell's Great White album. For example:

To me smash has a few Ratt Moments..."Shut Down Baby' is obviously Zeppelin and the rest has a crashdiet/Hardcore Superstar feel to it.. Overall I do like the album..
