| A couple days before Christmas I had a little kick-back at a friend's house.
I decided to branch out and try something new: Arrogant Bastard
It's an Amber Ale that goes down real smooth with a burnt fruit taste. The aftertaste is really sharp too. I enjoyed it.
For Christmas, my friend got me The Beer Book which glorifies over 1,700 beers from around the globe. It's a really neat book. |

Arrogant Bastard Ale is excellent stuff!! I have a bottle of it chillin' in my fridge right now. It's got a real kick that sneaks up on ya too! _________________ "God's the ultimate playa, so naturally He's going to have some haters," rapper Ice Cube said. | I was disappointed in the Schlafley Christmas Ale. Too much clove taste. Plus I'm not usually a big fan of ales in general. I've come to the conclusion that other than my alltime favorite beer (Schlafley's Pumpkin Ale), I need to stick with lagers and porters. Oh yeah, and forget "fruit beer"; no lemon this, or cranberry that, or blueberry something else...blecccch! |

| There's a polish beer, Kriek, I tried once at a bar brewed with cherries - A little pricy, but MAN what an excellent drink!

Anyone tried the Arrogant Bastard stuff? Pretty killer. The label of the bottle is hilarious too, the back of the bottle has a whole essay about how "this beer is probably too good for you" and "you probably won't like it." Well, I do!! |
Tried it, it's very good for an American beer.
You should try "Double Bastard", Freddy - It's an extra strong version of Arrogant Bastard. It traditionally goes on sale in America every November, but you can still find them all year 'round. |

| I agree that the American mass-produced beers are pisswater but the American microbrews are another story. We have one here called Schlafleys that makes a wide variety of beer styles and has seasonal brews that are the nectar of the gods. |

I mainly drink imports, but when I have American beers it's always from microbrews. They just know what they're doing, and do it for the helluv it!!
Last night I split a 12pack of Blue Moon Belgian Wheat Ale with a buddy of mine. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! |

| I'm enjoying "Newcastle's Brown Ale" right now - It's quite good for a mass-produced product, but I was expecting more taste - It's kind of flat. More barley and caramel, please. |

| In honor of this thread I present to you the lyrics to a classic by Fear; When I get home from work and I'm dyin' of thirst All I want is more beer I run into the kitchen and I tear off my shirt All I want is more beer Open up a six pack I'll be downin' it first All I want is more beer I can open up and finish faster than you All I want is more beer Gonna kill a case or maybe two All I want is more beer If there was no more beer then what would we do All I want is more beer |

Woah! That is so cool! - And thanks, I'll see if I can find that one. What is your general opinion of Brown Ales, Toho? - I see it as a caramel-flavoured malt beer - I LOVE malt beer! :metal: |

| Brown ale is the only ale I like. I agree a brown ale should have a malty, sort of nutty flavor. I generally prefer lagers and stouts though. |

Indeed. I agree 100 % - I love beers that are brewed on malt rather than wheat - Love me some good, sweet dark beer. Mmmmmm - Cheers, Toho!
