Bruce Dickinson will publish his autobiography, "What Does This Button Do?" this October. Sweet! I love a good rock bio and Bruce has had an interesting career, in and out of Maiden, so this will be a must read.

Rad, I might purchase this. I wonder what his writing style is like (if he didn't use a ghost writer, that is).

I might get it one day, but nothing I'll rush out and get the day it's out. I like Maiden, but Bruce gets on my nerves sometimes.

Apparently he wrote the first draft of the book in longhand (!)  during his down time on the current Maiden tour.

In other words...ghost writer? Bruce don't need no steenkin' ghost writer! Very Happy

With the excessive reading i must do at work, i find it hard to read anything at home. But i am willing to make some efforts.

Bruce has announced some autograph signings in the UK and US to promote the release of his book:

http://ironmaiden.com/news/article/bruce-s-uk-book-tour

He'll be in my neck 'o the woods (Ridgewood NJ) the first week of November! I am gonna do my best to make it for that one. I met Dave Mustaine at the same bookstore six or seven years ago.

*sigh*

Much like the long lost days of wandering around in Tower Records, spending time in a Barnes & Noble is becoming a thing of the past for me.

I hate these modern times! I miss hanging out in Tower records checking out new releases and looking for obscure albums that you had to spend time searching for.

We still have a Books A Million here and it stays pretty busy. Might help that they have a coffee shop inside but there is always a crowd there. They also sell vinyl but it can be a bit pricey (but what stores don't sell it overpriced?). I love browsing in BAM as do the wife and kids. I'll look for Bruce's book and thumb thru it then decide whether or not I want to get it.

The book is out tomorrow. I ordered today and hope to have it before the weekend.

I'm going to have to clear some time for reading. Luckily golf season ended.

Bruce D. is doing a book signing in Northern NJ this coming Saturday... and if all goes according to plan, my brother and I will be there! Woohoo! :cheese:

You have some funny stories involving your brother. What question is your brother going to ask that will get Bruce rolling?

As someone who's currently working on a 300+ page dissertation, I can't imagine any of these rock bios that come out not involving a ghost writer. Especially in this case, being that Maiden has been on the road for almost two years straight promoting the new album.

His story is bound to be interesting though. I think I would be more inclined to read Bruce's autobio than some other musicians since his career hasn't been as entrenched in controversy and hatred of former band members, etc.

The crowd is likely to be quite large, so I doubt we'll have much time to chat with him. If we get ten seconds to say "Hi Bruce, its nice to meet you," we'll take it. Very Happy
