PostSubject: Different Albums, Same Album Covers!   11/16/2007, 3:40 pm

Someone brought this topic up on another board I frequent... ever seen 2 albums by two different bands/artists that have the same cover art? Here are two examples:

Morbid Angel's BLESSED ARE THE SICK

And Hexenhaus' A TRIBUTE TO INSANITY

Revenant's PROPHECIES OF A DYING WORLD

And Robert Plant's 29 PALMS (CD Single)

On a side note, my brother was good friends with the Revenant guys (they were from Jersey) and their album came out a year or two prior to the Plant CD... they thought it was rather funny that Plant used the same photo. What are the odds that an obscure death/thrash metal band that only released one album would ever have something in common with the mighty Robert Plant, eh? Laughing

Any other examples of this strange phenomenon out there??

Nevermore - In Memory EP

Funeral - Tragedies + Tristesse re-release

And I'm sure there is at least another band that have used this cover, but I can't recall their name now.

On a somewhat related note, does anyone remember an obscure NWOBHM band called Blade Runner? The cover art for their debut album (titled Hunted) was going to be used for a Savage album, but in it's unfinished version, logos were switched and Blade Runner got it instead.

Yea, they were! :metal: My bro was (and still is) good friends with Henry "Veg" Veggian (guitar/vocalist). Last I heard Veg is married and living in North Carolina someplace.

Back in the day, Revenant were like the "go-to" local opening band whenever a national thrash act stopped in Jersey to play, saw 'em a bunch of times.

Here's two for you also,

Geasa - Angel's Cry (Season of Mist 1999)

At Vance - Only Human (AFM 2002)

It was drawn for Geasa but since they could not afford the piece outright, Luis Royo kept the art and was free to use it elsewhere.
