| Should be good. I like the cover art, much better than the last two albums. |

| Cant wait!! CANT WAIT!!!!!!!! Yeah, awesome coverart! Read somewhere that Jon was angry, and in a very dark mode while making this album. And I like his darker albums best!!! |

I've often thought the same thing... but rumor has it that Jon turned over all rights to the Savatage name to Paul O'Neill (producer) some time ago. Whether or not that's true, I dunno._________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"Check out my CD reviews and other geeky nonsense at HubPages! http://hubpages.com/profile/FatFreddysCat |

| Or maybe since O'Neill only wants to do TSO, and Criss is gone, he's happier just putting it under his own name... I don't know...but the music sounds like Savatage to me... :metal: |

That was just my guess on the issue. But I know Jon was VERY unhappy with the fact that TSO could make a hit song with the exact same recording of "Sarajevo" that Savatage released only a year or 2 earlier. So he feels Savatage will never gain the success that TSO has, so why bother. I'm perfectly hapy with Jon Oliva's Pain, and can't WAIT for this albu, and perhaps a tour!_________________ |

I read this too...he was asked something like "Why not do another Sava-record?" and his response was to the effect of "...I have 4 platinum albums on my wall and not one of them says 'Savatage'..." I guess JOP satisfies his Metal craving... |

| DO NOT CALL THIS SAVATAGE. BAD IDEA. It's not Savatage. Criss is gone. |

| They made like 4 albums without Criss... |

| And none of them were Savatage. Don't get me started. That's like Van Halen without Eddie. |

| "Hey, we still have the bass player most know, even though he didn't start with the band. We also have a guy who helped us write songs from the REAL Savatage even though he came along late as well. Hell, we'll call it Savatage." Then they wonder why it sold under the TSO name and not the Savatage name. Not really a shocker, imo. |

| Savatage was still Savatage because Jon and O'Niel was still connected. I'm sorry I loved the material with Criss but I still loved the matereial without him and while I can understand why there are some who don't like Savatage w/o Criss I still don't agree that they were not Savatage (TSO didn't come about til YEARS after Criss' death and between Mountain King and Edge Of Thorns, Savatage went from Criss and Jon to Criss, Jon, and O'Neil).
Now let's get back on topic here. Album cover looks awesome and I am looking forward to the new material. If it's good, who cares what name it's under, after all the music is more important than a band name. |

Exactly. They were the one's writing everything still....just different people playing it. Savatage never sold all that well...and by the time TSO took off, Metal was so out of favor that nobody short of Metallica could have had that success under their own name... |

Oh, I love JOP. Looking forward tro this one.
That other stuff still ain't savatage, imo. Paul wasn't an original songwriter in Savatage either, so saying "same people writing it", is stretching it just a bit. |

| Has anyone seen Jon Olivia lately? I didn't know he was such a big boy. I'm not real familiar with him or this band, so I went searching on YouTube. I know it's all really about the music, but I was shocked to see this huge guy singing these songs. The visuals don't match the vocals. |

I'll take your side when you convince me that Criss Oliva wrote every Savatage song before he died. =) With that said, those CGI skeletons are lame. |

I know he wasn't an origional member but he wrote most of the music from Gutter Ballet on up and was responsible for some songs on Hall Of The Mountain King so it is not really a stretch at all. Savatage was origionally an Oliva brothers project but transformed into an Oliva-O'Niel project long before the loss of, IMO, the greatest guitarist of the 80's Criss Oliva. |

whether you take my side or not, has nothing to do with my opinion. I own all those albums, but they should be called something else. I'm glad they went to TSO. I really like TSO. I don't wonder where Criss is everytime I hear them. BTW, I really like that cover. I look forward to this disc, more than any this year. |

| Whoa now! Don't get greedy with the replies! I understand what you're saying, I do. Whether or not it's called Savatage doesn't matter to me, really. I just want good music. |
