PostSubject: Ebay Question   Sun Mar 02, 2008 1:55 pm

Ive been putting up stuff on ebay and the last 2 days Ive been getting emails from people asking me if I take Money Orders, Western Union etc. and they have been from California. Has anyone else been getting the same thing? Cause I know some of you have been putting cds on ebay lately. It just seemed kind of wierd to me that I would get almost the same email from a couple different people. Is there any Money Order scams going on that I dont know about? Obviously I wouldnt mail it out to them until I cashed it in but im just curious.

There is always scammers out there. But I wouldn't think they would go after small po-taters like cds. As long as you cover your backside, you won't have any probs.

For some reason it seems I get my MO's from Cali as well. The only thing I do is just to make sure they're legit and clear before sending the CD off.

Tell them you will only take USPS money orders, if they are legit, that won't scare them off.

Yea I wouldnt think someone would screw me out of a couple of dollars for a cassette but ya never know. So far I have been lucky over the past couple of years and really havent had any problems. I just thought it was odd that I got a couple emails like that, and they were written almost identicle.
thanks guys!

http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams.html

The money order/cashier check scammers run rampant on Craig's List. If you post something to sell, you'll get a ton of e-mail within hours offering to send these things. The problem is, the checks will clear. It's tough to decide what to do. Check that link...

EBay does have the feedback feature, though. I would just not trust anyone that has bulk feedback entries left by the same couple of users; they're generally always untrustworthy.
