| Okay cheeky headline just like my new AC/DC: Airbourne thread that i started ages ago.
But there's no doubting this young (Northern) Irish band and their brand of sh*t hot blues metal has alot in common with Badlands albeit more Voodoo Highway than S/T debut.
And like Badlands this band is a band outta time severly indebted to the early 70's. Finding the common ground between Free, Humble Pie, The Faces and of course Led Zeppelin. Singer Cormac has a classic voice in the mold of the highly strung soulful hard rock singers Paul Rodgers and Steve Marriott. Add on to this a mutual love of Rory Gallagher and enough bluesman to fill the Mississippi delta and you've got one rockin' band to believe in.
This old influence is updated through the influence of Badlands and the Black Crowes.
Make no mistake about it these guys are the best hard rock/rock n' roll/metal band at the moment. And you would be doing a disservice to yourselves if you didn't pick their debut Rise (2006) up.

| I listen to it practically every day, and each time i shake my head and go these guys should be superstars now. Their new album and follow up to the debut is meant to see light this year. |

| I've had this for awhile and while I thought it was good, I don't feel the love for it you guys apparently do. Guess I need to listen to it again. _________________ "Don't reenact scenes from 'Platoon' with Charlie Sheen."

| I hope i haven't beefed em up too much, but this is the best band on the planet as of now. I've played it so much it's part of my DNA now! Saw them live infront of about 80 people in a pub last year and it was the best gig i've ever seen. Cormac can cut it live, what a voice. And no one rocks the bell bottom jeans and sideburns like Cormac does. And guitarist Paul Mahon evokes Paul Kossoff, Jake E Lee and Ronnie Wood in his guitar playing. |

| No but i don't think i've thought highly of any new young band as much as these guys. Their modern day classics. |

| Just picked it up. It was an import so I was a little shocked at the price tag, but since it's a 2 disc set I figure it wasn't too bad. Digging it so far. |

| great band. Rise is awesome, and they're very solid live too.
Definitely the most truly rocking band from Northern Ireland in years. shame that boring-as-Smurf Snow Patrol get all the attention. |

| I've been spinning both discs a lot. These guys are a great throwback to the heavy blues of the seventies. Love it! |

| http://www.lasercd.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=JASCDUK035 $7 for the single CD version. You'll have a hard time finding a cheaper price in the US. |

| I just asked my local cd shop to order it without getting a price first. When he told me the cost, I about fell over, but since it was already here, I just bit the bullet and paid for it. |

| Excellent band!!! Saw them when they opened for Aerosmith last year and they were just as good live as they are on the debut. I waited a long time to get a decently priced re-issue. Rise must be one of the best British debuts for a long, long time. Watch this space! They are going to be massive! |
