| I'd say Gene Hoglan from that list. After that, closely followed by Lombardo, Kirkpatrick, Sherlock and Sandoval. Jarzombek is also quite good. Heck, everyone on that list is talented out the wazoo. _________________ What a strange, strange freedom. Only free to choose my chains.

| Gene is the man. But the best drummer ever is Rick Allen, of course. |

| Not to take anything away from the rest of those guys because they're all talented but Lombardo just rips on the kit. |

| Richard Christy is amazing...
his work on the Sound of Perseverance is superb, and the double kicks during the chorus of Iced Earth's Wold is incredible |

| Richard Christy is awesome, as is Lombardo... but the best drummer I've ever seen live is Igor Cavalera of Sepultura. When I saw them on their BENEATH THE REMAINS tour back in '89 I was off to the side of the stage with a clear view of him behind the kit and couldn't believe how fast that guy's arms and legs were moving. I half expected his limbs to go flying out into the audience. Second favorite is Marky Ramone of the Ramones, because every time I saw them the rest of the band would be blazing away at 1000 MPH but Marky would just be sitting back there behind the kit, pounding away, but looking very peaceful and un-stressed (often with a cigarette dangling from his lip)... he made it look so easy... ! |

| I really do not have a favorite drummer. Drummers are interchangeable in a band as far as I'm concerned. Unless the drummer is one of the main song writers in a band, then he is expendable, IMO. |

| Voted Sherlock, although McBrain and Kirkpatrick have their moments...I take away point from Kirkpatrick because his drum solos in the albums detract from them, I think. Kind of wankerish... tough to call, as well, cause I kind of agree with Romeolimagolf..... |

| Here's my list of guys who should've been on the list. But I either forgot 'em or didn't have room for 'em. Derek Roddy (How could I have forgotten "One Take"?!) Neil Peart Hellhammer Nick Barker Jani Stefanovic Philthy Animal Taylor Charlie Benante Igor Cavalera Chris Hyde Lance Garvin Gar Samuelson Paul Bostaph Scott Travis Roger Sampson Sean Griego Glenn Evans Shannon Frye (LURIDEATH!!!!) Cozy Powell Nicko McBrain Scott Rockenfeld Carmine Appice Pretty much any drummer who's in a thrash, death, black, or prog metal band is blessed with unfair talent. |
