I didn't realize Queensryche was a person. Guess "That guy from Queensryche" would have shown their disingenuous "journalism" a bit more clearly.

I love KISS as much as the next guy but Paul Stanley's inclusion on this list is probably justified. Let's face it, their lyrics ain't exactly Shakespeare.

You can also read his body. Are the letters big enough?

I think they could've easily filled this up with rappers though.

Jim Morrison?

If these list-makers are that insanely moronic then I'm not even going to bother debating these lists anymore. There's absolutely no point.

I'm feelin' low, no place to go
And I'm a-thinking that I'm gonna scream
Because a hotel all alone is not a
Rock and roll star's dream
But just when I'm about to shut the light and go to bed
A lady calls and asks if I'm too tired or if I'm just to dead for

Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I can't say no

My plane's delayed and I'm afraid
They're gonna keep me waiting here till nine
Then a stewardess in a tight blue dress says
"I got the time"

But just as I'm about to take my coat and get my fly
She says "Oh please", she's on her knees
And one more time before I leave I get some

Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I can't say no, no

In my home town, I'm hangin' 'round
With all the ladies treatin' me real good
A sweet sixteen lookin' hot and mean says
I wish you would

But just as I'm about to tell her "Yes, I think I can"
I see her dad, he's getting mad
All the time he knows that I'm in need of

Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I can't say no

Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I can't say no, I can't say no

Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, you take the pleasure with the pain
I can't say no

Room service, well maybe baby, room service

Lame?! That's rock'n'roll brilliance!

Paul Stanley at his best is on "Take Me":

Grab onto my rocket
Feels so good to see you Lucille..."

Genius? Where the's LOL smiley, firehouse? Haha. You guys want to read the lyrics to the very first song I wrote?

Quote:
UNDER PRESSURE

When you feel alone, so alone inside
And you're always awake, but you don't feel alive
Then you meet a couple friends, they push you too far
And you forget who you really are

Cuz when you’re under pressure, you feel so alone
Under pressure, you have nowhere to go
Yeah, when you're under pressure, you feel so alone
Under pressure, you're losing...control

Now if you had a family and someone to love
I guess your life would not be so tough
And if you had someone to help you along
You might not do all those things that are wrong

Cuz when you’re under pressure, you feel so alone
Under pressure, you have nowhere to go
Yeah, when you're under pressure, you feel so alone
Under pressure, you're losing...control

Now there's a place not far away
That you could be visiting any day
Don't take your chances, only you've got the answers
And you'll have the chance to say...

When you’re under pressure, you feel so alone
Under pressure, you have nowhere to go
Under pressure, you're always stuck in a hole
Under pressure, you lose all...control

lol!

1987, baby! I was 12 years old, writing about drugs. Haha. To this day, I've never even tried drugs. So stupid. I still want to record this song. I never did. But it's all still in my head like it was yesterday.

It's funny though, I don't see Kurt Cobain on that list at all. The writer of such classics as;

Smells Like Teen Spirit:
"With the lights out it's less dangerous
Here we are now
Entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now
Entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My Libido
Yeah"

Heart Shaped Box:
"I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black"

and who can forget that classic family sing-along...

Rape Me:
"Rape me, my friend
Rape me again

I'm not the only one
Do it and do it Again

Waste me
Taste me, my friend

My favorite inside source
I'll kiss your open sores
Appreciate your concern
You'll always stink and burn

Genius if I have ever seen. Those are much better songs than "Hard Luck Woman", "Hey Jude", "Limelight", "Ramble On"...you get the picture.

The thing with Cobain is that his lyrics were generally interesting. He never really wrote about a certain subject. He basically just picked pieces from his random thought ramblings and pieced it all together for lyrics. Nothing he wrote was very poignant or profound, but I often found it poetic and interesting.

''Before I had a baby
I didn't care anyway
I thought about the back door
I didn't know what to say
But once I got a baby
I, I tried every way
She didn't wanna do it
But she did anyway

But baby please don't refuse

Yeah! Ace Frehley has one in the same style.

''She wants a rocket ride, She Wants a rocket ride...''

Both these songs are sooooooo great!

Thanks. I like Nirvana too, but if your(not you in particular)are going to pick apart Paul Stanley for writing juvenile lyrics then the ones that are left off the list; aka "good" songwriters, have to be unscientifically analyzed by us, the fans.

NSYNC doesnt write lyrics they have songwriters do it for them.

I agree with most of the list actually, even though they wrote some great and really popular stuff the lyrics quite honestly arent top notch in any means. But saying that i could think of 40 more ridiculous writers.

Some of the folks on this list don't belong here, and are included solely because they have never been darling of the critics. Neil Peart is certainly one of them. Sure, some of his lyrics can border on pretentiousness, but overall I think he has written some great lyrics. Most Rush fans will cite his songwriting and lyrical skills as the reason they have remained true to the band, even through their less creative periods.
