I didn't realize Queensryche was a person. Guess "That guy from Queensryche" would have shown their disingenuous "journalism" a bit more clearly.

I love KISS as much as the next guy but Paul Stanley's inclusion on this list is probably justified. Let's face it, their lyrics ain't exactly Shakespeare.

1987, baby! I was 12 years old, writing about drugs. Haha. To this day, I've never even tried drugs. So stupid. I still want to record this song. I never did. But it's all still in my head like it was yesterday.

Genius if I have ever seen. Those are much better songs than "Hard Luck Woman", "Hey Jude", "Limelight", "Ramble On"...you get the picture.

The thing with Cobain is that his lyrics were generally interesting. He never really wrote about a certain subject. He basically just picked pieces from his random thought ramblings and pieced it all together for lyrics. Nothing he wrote was very poignant or profound, but I often found it poetic and interesting.

Some of the folks on this list don't belong here, and are included solely because they have never been darling of the critics. Neil Peart is certainly one of them. Sure, some of his lyrics can border on pretentiousness, but overall I think he has written some great lyrics. Most Rush fans will cite his songwriting and lyrical skills as the reason they have remained true to the band, even through their less creative periods.
