I was just visiting the "Music" message board on IMDB and someone there had a question about Megadeth's classic "Peace Sells" video. He sez that according to Wikipedia, Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys plays the father who asks the kid "What is this garbage you're watching? I want to watch the news!" in the middle of the video, and he wanted to know if that was true. This was the first time I've heard such a thing (tho I've seen the vid zillions of time over the years) so I was wondering if anyone knows if it's true or just another Wikipedia B.S. story.

Here's the vid for those of you who may not have seen it in awhile... I just watched it again myself and honestly, I have no clue if "Dad" is Jello or not.

Senior Week 1989, Wildwood NJ. We'd be watching tv and someone would walk into the room and yell "What is this garbage?, I want to watch the news!" and change the channel. "This IS the news" was the response, followed by a barage of beer cans or whatever else we'd have handy to throw. Is it any wonder why we couldn't get any chicks to hang with us?

Anyway, about Jello in the vid, I couldn't tell ya. I know the name, but don't know him by face recognition. Just going on the fact that I've never, ever heard that story before, I'm gonna say it's not him. I've know I've heard Mustaine talk about having Steve Jones playing on "Anarchy..." If he had Jello Biafra make a cameo in the video, he would've talked about it somewhere. Dave's not one to keep quiet about anything.

I have no clue on who this jello guy is but if his name is jello he must be cool. What I did see though, and probably no one noticed it is at about 1:10 is video footage of Dave Mustaine being kicked out of Metallica. Not sure why he put that in the video though.

It doesn't really sound like Jello. And he actually ran for president in the green party.

I don't think that's Jello. I would think he would be a little more flamboyant, but I've been known to be wrong...well actually I'm always wrong.
