Since everyone has posted a nu metal thread, I think it's time I post mine.

I voted for metalcore.

Where is the choice for neither??????????

I'm not a real big fan of either, but since I do like Sevendust, Disturbed and some Disciple, I chose "nu".

i'm not voting. i like bands in both genres. i generally like more metalcore though, since it's the heavier of the two styles.

you know, it is possible to like all styles of metal & hard rock. why bother with choosing between them?

Nu-metal, by a mile. I like metalcore, but nu-metal has far more variety (since it's a stupid "genre").

Metalcore by a hair.

Is there really that much of a difference? I voted for Nu, just because I kinda like Korn.

Nu by more then 500 miles. There is/was more diversity in nu metal. Metal Core has 2 bands that define that genre and everyone else tries to sound like them. Nu metal has some great bands like Sevendust, DKL, Disturbed, Soulfly, a few Korn albums, SOAD, and more i cant think of.

I went with metalcore cause i happern to dig quite alot more metalcore bands than I do nu-metal bands

This is exactly why I am starting to just ignore people that have nothing good to say about this topic....

Metalcore is not just two bands that sound alike...
take Norma Jean vs, Bullet for My Valentine

two completely different bands with one branding of metalcore..

AILD vs. Chimaira

Bloodlined Calligraphy vs. Caliban

and it goes forever. These bands are all labeled as metacore but none of them sound alike at all, let alone all the deathcore bands out there that kick ass. You dont have to like it but think about what you're saying. That is like saying that Maiden and Preist sound the same because they are grouped together.

as for Nu Metal..

I am not going to say I dislike it but it has to be really good, and to top that off Nu metal is one of those genres that is arguable. Is LImp Bizkit really going to be classified with the likes of slipknot and static-x.....

both of those bands I thought were (and are) Great and they are also way different from each other...

My point is that judging by genre can be inaccurate sometimes.

korn are fairly decent so i voted for poo metal
