But then again, I'm a Mustaine fanboy. I like the Ron McGovney '82 Garage Demo & Power Metal a lot too. |

| "... And Justice for All" is their masterpiece to me. Not sure why, perhaps it's nostalgia since that was the first Metallica album I ever owned. LOTS of memories for me. Plus it just seems that album doesn't get the appreciation it deserves.
1. ... And Justice for All 10/10
2. Master of Puppets 9.75/10
3. Ride the Lightning 9.5/10
4. Kill Em All 9/10
5. Death Magnetic 8.5/10
6. Metallica (aka The Black Album) 8/10
7. Load 7/10
8. Reload 7/10
9. St. Anger 6/10
The first 5 albums in bold are essential Metallica. The rest are for fans only IMO.

| I like their self titled album also, it is just not as strong as the first three but still a great album, I personally a little burnt out on the album due to radio saturation but in hindsight I feel it is a great album. |

Oh I like the "S/T" album too. Don't get me wrong. I like all of Metallica's albums (save for St. Anger).
I just feel it's very overrated. And that might have a lot to do with the fact that it's been played into the ground over the past 20 years or so.
But I can remember when it first came out (and I was a HUGE Metallica fan back then), that I was a bit disappointed in it. It was a huge step below "... And Justice for All" for me. |

| Kill Em All. It's the most energetic, the most raw, the loudest, and it truly captures the spirit of old school California thrash. Kirk's solos on that album were INSANE, and I don't think I can say that for any other Metallica album. |
