I think she is great saw at the warp tour a few years ago and she still
looked great at 48, and as live act she was second to none.
I did do a search for a thread I didn't find one.

I saw her at the oddest of places, Oracle Open World conference in San Francisco - the company I worked for at the time was an Oracle partner and had a booth. They had a "customer night" at the cow palace whith live music. The headline was Elton John. The had 2 large outside tents with other bands playing. Inside the arena, was Berlin followed by Elton John. One tent had Devo and Led Zepplin tribute band, they had a Rolling Stones tribute band as you walked in and the other tent had a all female AD/DC tribute band called AC/DC (they were pretty good, did all Bon Scott era songs!) and Joan Jett. Joan played at the same time as Elton, so of course I caught her show instead! She put on a great show despite being emotionally drained, the drummer for the runnaways had died earlier that week.

I've always liked her too, never got the chance to see her live, she was playing at a local casino a while back but the tickets were a bit pricey and I was once again low on cash. Maybe next time she rolls through town I'll get to see her. Good time rock n roll, that's what it's all about

She just did two free shows at the NY State Fair yesterday. I didn't go but a bunch of friends did. I don't do weekends at the fair, too insane. I might go Thursday. Nugent is doing the 4:00 and 8:00 freebie shows that day.

I saw Joan at our local community college back around '86 or '87. Great show. Nothing but stacks and a drum kit for a backline. It was so loud panels were dropping out of the ceiling. Now that's Rock n Roll!!!

Yes, I have a few of her CD's. Her earlier stuff is hard to find. I only have "Up Your Alley" "I Love R&R" "Pure & Simple" "Hit List" & "Sinner". I've been looking to find "Good Music", or I'm looking for decent prices. Some of them are Imports at outrageous prices.

I saw Joan Jett live numerous times at the Birch Hill here in NJ during the early/mid 90s. I wasn't a huge fan at first but a buddy of mine was an obsessed Joan fanatic who'd seen her in concert about 50 times (no kiddin') and he kept insisting I had to see her live at least once before I died. When I finally did go to a Joan show with him I was glad I did because she definitely opens up a serious can of whoop-a$$ on stage!! After that I gladly joined my pal in attending her gigs whenever she came thru the area.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this story before around here or not, but one of the last Joan shows I attended took place just as she began appearing as "Columbia" in an off Broadway theatre version of "The Rocky Horror Show." She had shaved her head for the role and obviously word hadn't gotten around about her new look yet, cuz when she came out on stage with the bald head you could literally hear a collective, shocked "GASP! WTF?" from much of the audience. That was pretty funny.

Speaking of Joan Jett, isn't she working on a documentary on the Runaways, I know of the one Vicki Blue did called "Edgeplay" but I thought I had heard that Joan Jett and the surviving Runaways were going to be making their documentary, but I have not heard a thing about it in about a year, is this happening, does anyone on this board have any info?

Don't blink or you'll miss Joey Ramone's oh-so-brief cameo in this one...

Looky! It's Joan's rumored girlfriend, Carmen Electra!

I have I Love Rock'n'Roll. Or at least I used to several years ago. I think I only have an empty case anymore. I guess it got lost somewhere. It's a shame because I remember liking it a lot.

Figured you would... I was channel surfing last night, stumbled across that "Crimson & Clover" clip on VH1 Classic, and was thus inspired...

Great artist, though I still like Lita the best out of the Runaways, Joans had a much more consistent career.

Out of the Runaways, Lita is the one I'd most wanna bang. But music-wise Joan kicks her a$$ any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Laughing

I have always liked her but I can never find any of her stuff at any CD store. I've wanted to get some stuff by The Runaways forever now. (This is a cue for UncleSax)

Well, Joan wouldn't have sex with you anyway because you are male.

I like to be in denial about certain facts, sir.
