How bad do you think St. Anger was?

Most people say it sucked, but to what degree did it suck? I thought it was bad, but maybe not quite as bad as most people say. Maybe if Korn did it it would be a classic.

I think it is the worst album ever made in any genre of music, ever. By far.

IMO it had a larger volume of of songs I liked than RTL did i belive I disscussed my non-love for that album in one the other 100 metallica threads

its not that I hated RTL and say its a crappy album it's just none of the songs really hit me as anything amazing (save for Creeping Death/Call Of The Ctulu) on the other hand I thought st.anger was filled with a whole mess of emotion and while it dosn't sound like a "Metallica" album thats the great part about it for me those songs are packed with expermentation and groove where-as RTL for me sounds like there halfway point between KEA & MOP

but again to each his own I'm glad this isn't the kind of board were I would have been ripped to pieces for saying that i thoug SA was better than RTL

It's a terrible album with a few really good moments. But terrible overall. It's clearly not the worst album ever made, though.

And do we need to discuss St. Anger yet again? I realize you weren't born yet when it came out, but come on...

Don't get involved Firehouse on it. I have 2 albums on my room from Firehouse right now. I rather listen Bon Jobi than new Metallica sick

My neighbor bought Saint Anger the day it came out and brought it over to my house. I put it on and thought WTF. I tried to play it a few more times and thought the same thing. Fast forward another few years and a friend on mine gave me a CDR of it. I tried to play it again to the same results I even put it on my I-pod playlist hoping that in the right situation I would hear something in that would help me to understand it and grow to like it. I just don't think it will ever happen for me, but having said all this I still don't think it is the worst album ever.
