| I have over 25 new CDs to listen to; DM is one of them.
I just can't bring myself to listen to it because A) opinions seem wildly divergent and B) it sounds like a ponderous album with epic-length songs and I just don't have time for that now.

|  DM is the secret album on hold after and justice for all... ye maybe not but i think they did damn well with this album...do or die, id call it a success. theyve been around a long time and to stay in metal for this long says it all... MaD ProPs DM RockS Ohh but the black album...its good...but a little lame for my taste, with the exeption of a couple tracks... > Black Album>

| Well, DM is sitting pretty at platinum in the US. I think AC/DC is gonna kill this album in sales. The hype and push for Black Ice is amazing. |

That is how I found it as well, as a desperate attempt by the band to re-create the once lost magic. I am not saying it is a bad album (taking into consideration the post-Black Album Metallica era), but just not upto the mark. Black Album still scores high for me. |

| I like the Black Album back when it was released, but it's been a long time since I've listened to it. When I want to listen to Metallica, I usually reach for pre-Black album material. I'm liking Death Magnetic better right now, but for me, it's still pretty new. I'm curious to see if it has legs. I'm looking forward to hearing some of the DM material this Saturday.

| I prefer the Black Album for two major reasons:
1. It was my first introduction to metal
2. The songs are much more memorable
