I really dig Arkona and Mechanical Poet. Not sure I have many more Russian bands in my collection, though.

and strange thing that not so much people knows really great bands as:
Black Obelisk (Chorniy Obelisk), Master, Korrozia Metalla (old), Hellraiser,
EST, Shah, and its most known old bands (mostly thrash metal)

Mechanical Poet - great band,
Arkona - i dont like such bands... pagan and etc

I only have one album from each, but have downloaded the others. They're not easy to come by around here. Stormspell released Arkona's last album in a killer digibook. And the last two or three Mechanical Poet releases haven't even gotten Euro releases as far as I can tell. Unfortunate. I hate downloads. =(

I have Shadowland (I think that's the name). It's basically Russia's answer to Blind Guardian and it's very good.

There's a couple of Russian bands I really like, for example Scald (with their amazing Will of the Gods is Great Power album), New Testament/Novy Zavet, early Aria and early Korozzia Metalla (before they became a retarded nazi band).
