| Pretty self-explanatory, which guitarists do you think have the best tone? I'll go with: SRV Mustaine Gibbons (especially on Rhythmeen) Brad Whitford (Aerosmith) Satch Hendrix Brian Robertson (Thin Lizzy) Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy) Tommy Skeoch (Tesla) Phil Campbell (Motorhead) Buddy Guy |

| Basically, anything. Do you like Euro Powermetal? They're that....but they usually don't get slammed for being too keyboardy, to dragony, too this or that.
Most will say avoid Grime-vs-Granduer....I say judge for yourself. That album had a different vocalist and a different sound (more traditional metal) but I love it as well.
Youtube will do you well. |

I have this on another thread but if you listen to Raven's "All for One" back to back with Megadeth's " Peace Sells But Who's Buying" I am sure that Dave Mustaine must have been a fan of this band. I can hear subtle influences in some Mustaine's riffs and songwriting. I am not claiming he is ripping off any riffs just sounds like he may been influenced by some of the songwriting. This is speculation on my part since I've not read in any article where Mustaine referrences Raven. |

| I know it's blasphemy, but I hate Eddie's tone. For me, the best tones are... David Gilmour Stevie Ray Vaughn Brian May Larry LaLonde Marty Friedman East Bay Ray Ace Frehley Andy Summers |

Sleep's Holy Mountain is pretty much all you require. But I think Pike really started to hit his stride with High On Fire; The Art Of Self Defense is one of my favorite albums._________________ |
