Sleep's Holy Mountain is pretty much all you require. But I think Pike really started to hit his stride with High On Fire; The Art Of Self Defense is one of my favorite albums. |

| Im surprised no ones mentioned Angus & Malcom Young! there guitar tone defines rock and roll and Angus gets it by plugging straght into one stinking amp! no pedals or fancy rack gear just an SG and 70's Marshall and then Malcom dose'nt even use a guitar amp he use a modified bass amp and cranks it up so loud that it becomes distored/overdriven (can't get more analog than that) and Mal's been playing the same beat to sh*t Gretchs guitar for over 20 years |

For me Angus's tone is what kills his playing, it's just too plain. |
