I was listening to DEAD & BLOATED this morning and really enjoying it.

Name a few thrash metal CDs from bands that you think are worthwhile from bands that most thrash/metal fans aren't familiar with.

DEAD & BLOATED - You Don't
AFTERMATH - Don't Cheer Me Up

and one I regularly list
THE MOSHKETEERS - The Downward Spiral

Alot of people know about it, but overlook it:

Devastation - Signs of Life

It's like a crossover/Dark Angel vibe on that one, before they went almost tech thrash on the excellent Idolatry. I prefer Signs of Life actually.

Yes, good one! All three Devastation CDs are actually pretty good.

MANDATOR - Perfect Progeny

I love that album. I was actually listening to it yesterday afternoon.

Anyways, Overthrow - Within Suffering deserves mention.

In before sideshowdisaster takes over the thread... Very Happy

first two that came to mind

crionic - different
sounds like late 80s sepultura. really underrated

deathblow - meanless propaganda
sounds like testament, but with more headbanging riffs and a fun singer.
great stuff

Living Sacrifice-S/T. Great thrash album, I just wish the solos were better but still they're not bad.

Eviction--the world is hours...away!

like crossover but not the traditional whiney punk/thrash vocals....seriously the guy can not be imitated one of my fav thrash discs I own.

Dead head--the feast begins at dawn

oldschool first album by dutch death/thrashers,

Thresher--totally possesed

unknown christian thrash from 89, really classic metal sounding thrash.

I always find these "unknown whatever" threads too funny because no band is unknown to us members of heart of metal because of the crazy amount of knowledge found here!

I guess I'm compelled to toss a few out there...

Carbide - Spiral Termination
A lot like Nosferatu era Helstar, though there are more full-throttle moments here. A big power/speed/thrash fest to be found!

Gladiator - Designation
If like Beneath The Remains from Sepultura, meet that albums twin brother. This band from Slovakia sound FREAKISHLY like Sepultura.

Caustic - Caustic
These guys have an early Slayer vibe, though they are more varied in the tempo department than early Slayer EVER was.

Genetic Wisom - The Fear Dimension
This band was a continuation of the band Sacrosanct. Progressive thrash metal is the name of the game. Quite good, with lots of tempo changes. The vocals can occasionally be.....off, though. (second album was pure groove/half-thrash)

Dimentia - Affliction
A lot like Testament. Mostly mid-paced thrash (a few full-throttled tunes, though). For the time of it's release, this is actually quite surprising.

Crash - Endless Supply Of Pain
Mix equal parts Sepultura and Kreator. Really good pounding thrash from Korea.

I could keep going...

Another one:

Steel Reign-Change to Insane
This release was great Thrash similar to Practice era Testament. After this the band moved into a more modern Alice in Chains sound.

This is the kind of thread my music budget can't handle. So I'll try (and fail) to not look into some of these albums.

Antagonist - Antagonist
Technical aggressive speed/thrash. All the intensity of Bonded By Blood, Ritually Abused, with some pretty intricate riff work to make it unique.

Aspid - Extravasation
Technical Pestilence-influenced thrash/death with snarling Russian vocals and the greatest guitar tone ever given to thrash metal.

Have Mercy - Armageddon Descends
If these guys were located on the West Coast they could have easily been more popular. They would have been a pioneering Metallica worship band had the material on this EP not been written prior to even the 1985 Master of Puppets demo.

Tension - Breaking Point
The neglected younger brother of early Overkill and Metal Church. Classic poser-killing speed/thrash.
