hmmmmmm.....HMMMMMMMMMM

Temptation Comes My Way has had a constant prescence in my playlists since I've gotten it. Personally I love the way these guys have turned out and hope they stay the course. I tried to give the debut another spin but I just find it too boring. Even though on my top 20 list has them 2nd behind Nightwish I've listened to TCMW more than any album of last year (if my list wasn't final I'd have to revise it). The songs have their hooks in me and I can't get them out.

I saw The Showdown at Ozzfest. They were very good.

New album, Backbreaker, out this week and it's like they added some latter era Testament with a little COC. Heavier then the last one but not such a huge change that it will turn most off. I'm going to like this a lot.

The vocals sound very different to me. Still good, and I'll probably get it and like it, but it's a bit off-putting when bands change styles so much.

Since it is out now, I will probably pick it up tomorrow. I would have done it today but I took an hour 1/2 nap that turned into 7 hours.

I hate to say this but I am disappointed in this release. I really enjoyed the sound of Temptation and apart from a smathering here and there it is pushed away by the heaviness. While it is more thrash oriented I can't help but here a little of the metalcore that they started with making me feel that this album is a step backward. My only hope is that these guys are trying to alternate; i.e. the next album will be more like Temptation, then the next like this one, etc. It is not a bad album at all and it might grow on me the more I listen to it. However, while Temptaion Comes My Way was the best album of 2007 IMO, this one will more than likely not even make it in the top 20.

I'm getting into the new album "Blood in the Gears". I think i'll buy this one making it my first for this band.

I like this band a lot better than Five Finger Death Punch.

I just listened to a song of theirs last night from one of the many free Classic Rock CD's that have laying around the house and I thought it was good song, and will be looking further into them.

I hope they're going back to the southern metal style. The last one disappointed me with the metalcore elements.
