| My brother is/was a HUGE death metal/grindcore guy in the family so I heard tons of it growing up. The "WOOOOARGH' vocals were always a turn off for me, so I never really became a huge death metal fan.
However, I do dig some old Sepultura (say, BENEATH THE REMAINS thru CHAOS A.D., although those records were more thrash than death metal anyway) and Morbid Angel stuff. Morbid Angel were the first DM band I ever saw live, my brother asked me to go to a show with him cuz the guy who was supposed to go with him bailed @ the last minute. I was like "Oh man, this is gonna SUCK" but they were one heckuva intense live band.
Oddly enough, Death Metal always seemed to work better for me in a live situation. I've seen quite a few DM bands/shows over the years (Obituary probably was the all time best, they blew Sepultura off the stage the night I saw them!), but for some reason I could never get into listening to that stuff on my stereo at home. Dunno why. |

I use to listen to a lot of death metal back in the day and use to have
more of it on NLTM, but I grew bored with it. The vocals just lack
something. I see the same thing in metalcore. All the vocalists sound
the same with very little distinction. I just don't care for it anymore.

Yeah, this band is great. A little weird, but I enjoy both albums (Worldly Separation and Perspectives) quite a bit. I'm sure you already know it's the project of a former Slaughter (Can) member.
People never mention this band, but I think they are worthy.
