| I love DA, but they were emulating Slayer on Darkness Descends. My vote goes to the originators. Hell Awaits is slowly becoming my favorite Slayer release. |

| Hell Awaits
I have never been a big fan of either band, but Hell Awaits has some of my favourite Slayer songs on it, and a great transitional album - It had the melody of the first album and the intensity of their later albums. Had it been Reign in Blood, Darkness Descends would be my pick. Reign in Blood is below mediocre. |

Meh, a few good ones, but the songs are nothing special. And the solo's....oh jesus! - I have always thought that Slayer's solo's were exceptionally bad (especially King's) - But they take the cake on RIB!
They sound like someone's amp crashes while tuning the damn guitar. Just awful |

| I can't say that I'm familiar with Dark Angel (Know about em', just never listened to them). I probably shouldn't have voted based on that, but I did. I listened to Hell Awaits for the first time in a very long time (years in fact) couple of weeks ago. I forgot how good this record was. |

| In general I like Dark Angel moreso than Slayer, but Hell Awaits was monster thrash album and my second favorite behind Show No Mercy.
