For fans of fusion, I highly recommend this new release:

Fusion legends Chick Corea & John McLaughlin with Kenny Garrett (sax), Christian McBride (bass) and Vinnie Colaiuta (drums). This band toured for a year, this album was compiled from those concerts. Proof positive that fusion is still a viable musical format in the cold light of the 21st century.

A bunch of samples of this album are available on Chick Corea's myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/chickcoreajazz

UP fro the dead:

The Gary Burton/Larry Coryell Quartet from 1967 were the frontrunners of the whole jazz rock/fusion thing. Now, this is still very much on the jazz side of things...but you can hear the seeds of what was to come a couple years later.
