I'm sitting here listening to "Among the Living" thinking what a great CD it is. |

| I'd have to go with Anthrax - Among The Living. VERY tough to pick just one, though. _________________ What a strange, strange freedom. Only free to choose my chains.

That's how I am as well. All four were great, but I picked ANTHRAX today. |

| Master of Puppets for me... that was during a period in my life where I ate, breathed, slept, drank, and LIVED Metallica, didn't listen to anything BUT Metallica, didn't want to know nuthin' else but Metallica. Of course, if I'd known how irrelevant they'd become years later, maybe I wouldn't have been quite as fanatical at the time |

| hmmm hard choice...
I'd say Master of Puppets since it is the one I listened to many more times than the other three albums... but it is hard to choose cos they're all incredible and absolutely must-have albums :metal: |

| Not an easy choice, but I too went with Master of Puppets. When I was in Greece a few years ago, the wife & I were sitting in a "metal" cafe, drinking beers and people watching. The DJ was playing all kinds of cool heavy metal but noone was really paying attention, just doing their thing. Then we hear the opening notes of the song "Master of Puppets" and the whole place perks up, random head-banging and people throwing up the horns. To a song that was 17 years old. Whatever has become of Metallica, their legacy lives on. MoP is their crowning moment and nothing can ever take that away. |

| I voted for Slayer, but I don't know why, since Master of Puppets would be my favorite album of all time (tie with Twisted into Form) + I prefer Seasons of Reign in Blood.
I'd say that all four bands / albums above mentioned were way over the top, and I can think only a handful of bands / albums in the same league (Razor, Artillery - By Inheritance, Cyclone Temple - I Hate Therefore I am, etc.) |

| This poll would have been easy if it actually included the real peak album for Megadeth, which is clearly Peace Sells.
I think I may also have chosen Ride the Lightning over those other choices above.
I don't know...

Peace Sells was not their peak album. it may be your personal favorite, but not their peak album. i'm willing to bet that most metal fans would disagree with you. most would pick Rust In Peace. (not counting kmorg ) |
Peace Sells... is a GREAT album. I might even pick it as my favorite, depending on the day of the week. However, I don't think that Megadeth went downhill after this release at all. |

| To be honest, I got way into Peace Sells when it came out, but possibly never even heard Rust back in the day. I have it now but have never emmersed myself in it to the point of familiarity. But I do believe that Peace Sells was way magical, and I also know that Chris Poland's style and tone are a lot of what made Peace what it is, and I know that Marty F. is on Rust, so to me it seems impossible for it to be as good.

| Reign in Blood due to it being less than 30 minutes of full on mayhem!! If Spreading the Disease was an option--it may have been a toss up. How 'bout a poll for the 'second tier' (no such things really) bands (Forbidden, Overkill, Testament, Atrophy, Xentrix, Death Angel, Heathen, etc..... |

| I went with Anthrax. It was hard though picking between the three out of four (I'm not very familiar with Slayer). All are incedible masterpieces. |

| All of those are great albums, but I voted Rust in Peace. Mostly because I was just listening it. |

| Not many albums that can beat Master of Puppets:metal: One of my best moments of Metal in my life was seeing Metallica live in `86 with Anthrax opening! Two days before the accident in Sweden. Speaking of Anthrax, I actually prefer Spreading The Disease over Among the Living. |

A friend of mine from back in the day hitched a ride with the 'tallica tour bus from that concert, and on it's way to Sweden! Little did he know that that was gonna be the last bus tour the band would complete as a band...._________________ |

So do I. :metal:
However, both are great and "Among the Living is generally considered Anthrax's 'peak', although some may argue it was "Persistence of Time".

| I chose Master Of Puppets. In order, for me, though, it would go Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer. For a good laugh, check out a similar thread over at MetalReviews.com. http://www.metalreviews.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8833 I no longer post there. A few years ago it was an awesome music forum; now it's just overrun with the Blabbermouth crowd. |

Why do people get all bent out of shape over these sorts of polls. Who gives a rip. It's just people's opinions and what they like best. Five pages later and it still isn't going to change anyone's opinions. |

I don't know. It's a terrible trend, though. That poll annoyed me simply because it reeked of trendy nonsense. |
