Cool track listing, albeit a short one. Seems like it could've been longer. Would have been cool if they covered a Ripper-era tune or 2 with Halford, just to make it interesting. Meh, beggars can't be choosers. I'll probably pick this up at some point.

Pardon my ignorance, but where is track #5 'Death' from? I don't recognize that title.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see it's from Nostradamus, which would explain why I didn't know it.

I've really tried, but I can't make it through that whole album. Just not my thing at all.

If anyone owns their newest live album could someone please review it? I would do it myself but I have not bought it yet.

This new live album is terrible! They completely ruined one of my favorite Priest songs "Beyond the Realms of Death" and half of te other songs don't stand up to their past glory. I am a huge Judas Priest fan and to me this was a big let down!

i disagree. sure Rob's voice has gone downhill... but that's expected with age. the songs sound very alive for a band that's been around this long. i think they did a decent job with this.

Next up is Judas Priest's 3rd official live album '' '98 Live Meltdown", the major difference is of course Ripper Owens is fronting the band. A great solid live album not as good as 'Unleased in the East' but better 'Priest..Live'. The setlist even contains a few surprises such as 'Grinder' 'Rapid Fire' and 'Beyond the Realms of Death'. The band sounds like it is on fire, the songs taken on a more modern feel due to Scott Travis's frantic drumming style. Ripper does an excellent job on the classic material and the 'Jugulator' material such as 'Bullet Train' 'Abductors' and 'Burn in Hell' sounds better live. A solid live album.

I thought this album was fantastic. Ripper shows why he was chosen to replace Rob. The band themselves just spew out heavy metal energy. I thought the added chorus on 'Rapid Fire' was a big surprise to me. I love the rawer sound and the audience seems so into it. Sounds like a 2000 seat auditorium.... PLAY IT LOUDLY....

Agree with MC666. I think that it is a very good live album. I saw them on Angel of Retribution and on Nostradamus tour. Sure Rob's voice isn't the same like 1980, but he showed much improvement on Nostradamus tour than on Angel tour. The album is how I remind them from the last tour. I like also the song collection, I think they tried to find titles where not many live versions with Rob singing are availabe. This is a better approach than putting on every live album the same songs again and again. The only concerns that I have is that it is a little bit short (double Cd would have been better) and that it was recorded at differnt places.

Playing catch up in this forum. I'll just comment on what I own...

Sin After Sin - I really like this one. One of my earlier Priest purchase. I think their cover of "Diamonds & Rust" is great.

Stained Class - I haven't listened to this album in a long time, but I remember being somewhat bored by it.

Hell Bent for Leather - Awesome album. "Delivering the Gods", "Hell Bent for Leather", "Burnin' Up", "The Green Manalishi", "Before the Dawn", "Evil Fantasies"... Man, what a line-up of songs!

British Steel - Another Priest album that I think is overrated but there are a handful of undisputed classics.

Point of Entry - I like "Hot Rockin'", I like "Headin' Out to the Highway", I don't remember the rest. But I do remember not being impressed.

Screaming for Vengeance - Now we're getting into the era I like best! My first Priest album. How awesome is the combo of "The Hellion" and "Electric Eye"? I'm a huge fan of "Bloodstone" and "Take These Chains" as well.

Defenders of the Faith - I guess this is when some people started turning on the band, but they were still delivering the goods with songs like "Eat Me Alive", "Rock Hard Ride Free", "Love Bites" and "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll".

Turbo - I'm a fan of this one. "Turbo Lover" is excellent and "Locked In" is really good as are "Private Property" and "Parental Guidance". I remember "Wild Nights" being very cheesy though.

Ram It Down - One of my favorite Priest albums. "Ram It Down", "Blood Red Skies" and "I'm a Rocker" are worth the price of admission. Even their over the top cover of "Johnny B. Goode" has grown on me.

Painkiller - Easily my favorite Priest album and one of my favorite albums of all time. I think this was my third Priest CD, I think. There is no filler here. I still get shivers from "Painkiller", "Between the Hammer & the Anvil", "One Shot at Glory" and "A Touch of Evil".

Demolition - One of my earliest Priest purchases, I didn't care for it. Looking back now, it's okay, but I never listen to it.

Angel of Retribution - A welcomed comback, in my eyes. Not quite at the level of some of their earlier stuff, but I still like the album. First four tracks are the best.

Nostradamus - I didn't like this album at first. I still think there's way too much filler on this album and it would have been better off as a just one CD, but it's grown on me a lot, so I enjoy it now. A lot heavier at times than Angel of Retribution was, but we still haven't gotten a classic sounding Priest album since Halford has come back.

A Touch of Evil: Live - Surprisingly, I really like this album and played it a lot when I first got it. I usually don't care about live albums, but I'm such a big Priest fan I wanted it. Great track listing instead of the usual numbers.

You're missing out. Angel of Retribution and Painkiller are fantastic IMO.

I'm familiar with both albums. Owned Painkiller when it came out and I also bought AOB. Painkiller bugs me because of the drummer, the speed metal stuff doesn't sound right with Priest (IMHO). AOB was nice to hear, but it's staying power was incredibly short. I think I sold it about 5 months after I bought it.

I enjoyed the live concert DVD from the Retribution tour more than the album itself.

Those albums just aren't the style I feel like hearing when I'm in the mood for Priest.

The DVD is sweet ! I dig the places where Halford comes up from beneath the stage on those turbo lifts out of no place.

I effing love Turbo, what a great album. But to be completely honest, the albums from 4 til 11 are all ten out of tens for me, so they can easily be switched.
